You can compete in both if you pay for entry to both

Just my opinion...but... If the race director is making most of the calls, that's a big part of your problem. The race director's job is to keep the show organised, flowing smoothly, and running quickly and efficiently. Most rulebooks, under the procedural rules (which few people read) state that the flagman is in charge of the track. They also usually say that no protest is allowed on the Flagger's decisions. It doesn't say no protest allowed on the race director's decisions. If the race director is running everyhing, as a flagger I would help them wire the track for green, yellow, and red lights, tell the competitors that lap flag and black flag calls will be coming through the one way radio, and walk away. Good race directors (and I've known a few) will not make competition calls unless it comes down to no other choice.

I worked with one of the best in the business, and he was responsible for calls on the track. That being said, he talked to the other sets of eyes in the tower, as well as the flagger before making a call in most cases.

At birth, his career was amazing from start to finish.

I used to have that job, and as a driver, I always fought for the teams, especially when I knew the tower was wrong. On the flip side, if you approached me with attitude, I wasn't going to lift a finger to help you.

At least when it comes to crates, it wouldn't be worth it. Seems like they are tearing up a lot of equipment over there.

That is the biggest reason I found a new track to run at last year.

I don't think it was a matter of the "invaders" winning. I think most of the issue comes from damage done to others by a few of those "invaders". Andy Smith isn't a regular anywhere, he picks and chooses races to go to, the rest of them choose to race elsewhere Saturday nights, and because Skyline ran late, they decided to crash the party. That's all fine and well. Outside competition is a great way to gauge yourself against others, but like I said earlier, when it effects cars running for points, that kind of sucks.

I think Walt's idea is a great idea.

Personally, I don't mind the extra competition anytime it shows up. The downside of this is the fact these are regular shows, with points implications involved. Normally not a big issue, but if people come late and slash and burn their way through the field, that's a problem.

Back gate is normally 27, been that way for several years. Green flag money has always been $50 for sportsman.

If you don't qualify through a heat or a regularly scheduled consi, you run for half the starting money and are not scored for points... I think that would deter some of them from showing up.

Thats what I figured would happen.

I think I'm going to pull out of following the series.

McCreadie said what everyone already knew. The guy is a joke.

He was at Canandaigua several years ago and I had to educate him on SA ratings for safety equipment. Great tech man right there.

Premium channel may be a bit of an excuse, but EVERY race so far this season has seen a considerable drop in ratings.

Honestly, I think over the last 5 years I've seen less than 2 hours of NASCAR racing, and I don't really miss it.

Good question considering Skyline is a little different than 5 Mile and Penn Can.

I think your only options are home track rules or track rules at this point.

Here's my question. If tracks are pulling the sanction because of the litigation in progress, how does this effect the next event at Utica Rome Speedway May 22? They have 3 events scheduled at UR and 3 events scheduled at Rolling Wheels.

That will be up to each track. I think they will have contingency plans in place just in case they decide to drop the series. I dont see advertising any ROC race as a draw right now. not for fans, not for cars.
