After much thought, deliberation & consultation, I have decided to change the format for the bonus money for the Jim Pierce Memorial SST 100 at WCIS on October 13th. I will no longer be doing a lap money program in the traditional sense but instead will be doing the following:
Special Awards & Bonuses
There will be a number of special awards & bonuses available (a partial list is below) and I am open to additional suggestions. I am looking to make each award worth at least $50. Anyone can contribute any amount to any award and whoever contributes will be listed as an award sponsor. The total amount for each award will be given to the winning driver. Judged awards (like Best Appearing) will be decided by the Pierce Family.
*Hard Charger
*Hard Luck
*Best Appearing Car
*Best Appearing Crew
*Sportsmanship Award
*Longest Haul
*Highest Finishing Lancaster, Holland, Spencer, Chemung & WCIS Cars (must have raced at least 50% of this seasons races at said track)
*Halfway Leader Bonus
*Heat Winner Bonus
Lap 26 & 62 Big Money Laps
I am creating a pot of money for laps 26 and 62, to be given away in SST Victory Lane. On Laps 26 & 62, the top 15 running cars will be written down. In Victory Lane, the Pierce Family will pull a chip with a running position on it for each pot of money. Whatever driver was in that position wins the money.
As always, 100% of money raised will go directly to the drivers!
I wanted to shake things up a little and do something different this year. I hope that those who supported the race last year will continue to support the bonus money program this year.
