CharginCharlie, I am not complaining about the added cost for the SST's..My only issue is with the tracks explanation of why a Senior should not receive a discount....I'm not sure how to take the other posters remark of I should just stay home or to meet up?...I am surprised he didn't include directions to the nearest Cemetery

Personally I'm Totally Against Senior Discounts. Why Do You Think Businesses Offer Senior Discounts? Because The Seniors Are Typically The Group With The Most $$$$. Why Don't They Offer Welfare Recipient Discounts, Or Single Mother With 4 Kids Discount? Because Typically They Are The Poorest.

I agree with Tom Winter on the need for senior discounts, it's called a courtesy to people with limited incomes, BUT all is well since roblaskowski99 say's he will contribute the difference in ticket prices. Tim Packman's excuse is just lame......  I always wondered just how much money the empty seats generate ? wouldn't a $22.00 seat put $22.00 into the coffers ??

Spoken like a true douche, "BobDylan".  You get to be 62-65, and have been going to the races for like, 50 yrs., and some form or recognition / reward is not warranted?  So what if we don't "need" the discount?  It's still the right thing to do. I was there, paid the $25, and had a good time. I STILL think EV ERY track should offer a senior discount to those who have continued to support the sport over the (many) years that we all love.  Do you hate puppies and kittens too?

It's Called The Internet:

Net Worths by Age Groups

The book The 10 Commandments of Money: Survive and Thrive in the New Economy lists median, top 25%, and top 10% net worths by age groups. I thought I'd list them and comment on each group. Let's start with median net worths:

    20 to 29 years old -- $6,400
    30 to 39 years old -- $51,200
    40 to 49 years old -- $133,100
    50 to 59 years old -- $229,300
    60 to 69 years old -- $256,300

Here are the top 25% numbers:

    20 to 29 years old -- $35,000
    30 to 39 years old -- $184,000
    40 to 49 years old -- $371,000
    50 to 59 years old -- $605,000
    60 to 69 years old -- $710,400

Finally, here are the top 10% numbers:

    20 to 29 years old -- $132,000
    30 to 39 years old -- $436,000
    40 to 49 years old -- $840,000
    50 to 59 years old -- $1,350,000
    60 to 69 years old -- $2,030,000

John_unaman  and Shamrock 3x, Thank you..I think your points of courtesy and longevity are right on..whether you race, are a fan,or run a race track, you were influenced or introduced to racing by someone who preceded you..I do not think there is any exception to that.

I feel this conversation is pointless but here is my nickel anyway. (inflation) Since the discount is a mere $3 presumably, get rid of it. Three dollars is not going to change many minds about whether or not they will attend. I can get a 10% discount at the restaurant I go to everyday and I never ask for it. Having said that I feel all tracks should offer a half price ticket to anyone with a valid military ID active or retired. It won't cost that much and is a great PR move. Remember that ticket may include many seniors as well. Also keep in mind our military people took a serious hit in pay when they decided to join. Carry on.

You can not get rid of something they do not have in the first place...I like your idea about the military but personally find issue with only active or retired..If you spend 4 years or in my case 8 years, those individuals are always over looked..The only exception would be the Erie County Fair on Veterans Day free admission...I'm not sure why you feel no respect should be showed to any Seniors..Maybe you feel they are all millionaires like #2Charger seems to think..Of course 2 or 3 dollars is not going to make a difference..But don't tell me your reason for not having a Senior discount is the money you will save on buying concessions..
