theres plenty of hotels within an hour of the track. we have gone the last three years. going again this year. book a room early tho. i already renewed my tickets in turn 3:)

Getting the DIRT Mods on TV from Eldora requires a simple tool : $$$$

The question is, would WRG/Eldora put the $$$ up to put it on TV?  Plus:  You already have a full crew there to shoot the NASCAR event, so quite a bit of overhead cost is eliminated.  Minus:  You'd have to fork over $$$ for the crew, then fork over MORE $$$ for a time slot on a national cable outlet like CBS Sports Net/MAV TV.  Without a title sponsor to foot the bill, that's gotta come out of someone's pocket, and there's no guarantee that the TV exposure would generate enough revenue through (sold) commercial spots to offset the cost...OR generate enough of a ratings blip or buzz to entice a sponsor to come on board.

Sorry for my pessimistic post, but they've had Late Models and/or Emods there every time and the tv never even showed a glimpse of them. 

It absolutely is awesome that Super DIRT Series is going back to Eldora!  But ya just gotta know that no way will NASCAR allow them to be shown live on the same night.

If the late models barely got any air time, neither will the modifieds (sorry to say).

To me there was nothing worse than when the announcers are blathering with the late models in the background and they wouldn't even show them

I am realistic enough to rationalize all of everyone's points and the validity of them, and not just everyone's favorite announcing Cowboy. BTW, you missed an awesome time at Racing Research Center, Paul.

The joy is in being support in an event that has either sold out or damned close to it, and is one of the most highly anticipated NASCAR events. I did not get a chance Saturday to ask about TV, and I did just assume the mods would get some exposure.

If anyone has hotel information, could they post it? And does anyone know if you have to buy a ticket for a seat, or can you just buy a pit pass? I'm going with a modified, and want to be in the pits.

Now I will concentrate my efforts on finding out if the event will be televised - either live or tape-delayed. There are two shows, one Tuesday and an Invitational Wednesday with the trucks. How do any of us know if WRG is working on getting some TV time? We don't.

My understanding is that tickets go on sale 12/14/15.  The added date at Sharon on 7/21 was a smart one as well, making the trip much more worthwhile for the teams (with 2 full point shows and an invitational event).
