From Lancasters Face Book Page This Morning
« on: September 01, 2013, 09:07:08 AM »
The US Open will go on as scheduled Sept 20,21,& 22.

We need fan support, and car owner/driver support. If we get that, we have always givin' you the racing.

When fans don't show, cars drivers/owners boycott we can't give you a race.

If it keeps up, this will be a drag race track with Wednesday Cruise Night and Saturday Special Events, such as concerts, monster trucks,
Nitro night, dirty girl run, etc. no more Stock Cars. It doesn't mean the track will close, it means Stock Car program has failed and been abolished. Help support us, help keep it alive in Lancaster.

Don't fall victim to rumors. The track isn't going anywhere, ownership could not be transferred per the town, they have said they won't approve racing under new ownership, and despite the best efforts of some who want a thruway ramp, that's just not happening either.

We want to give you a place to race, and a place to watch. We aren't perfect, but its not in our hands. We will proceed without stock car if we have to , but it will be because of boycotts, and drama, not because we took it from you. Most of our fans deserve to have the program continue, and we want to continue, lets put differences aside and race.

They're saying, "its not our fault"? Like saying you take no resposibility. I guess that's the montra of today's society. It also sounds like a threat. "You drivers and fans better support us, or we will close". Unbeleivable.

Charlie, we racers received the same threat about 10 years ago.......

Lancaster Speedway died years ago. This thing that took its place is just a horrible attempt at being a race track. Them placing the blame on the fans and teams is ridiculous. Your program starts with the promoter, they have nobody to blame but themselves. RIP Lancaster.

I vote for racermike26 to take over promotion of the stock car program.  When Alex was there, he had the go-kart track in the parking lot and go-kart races on Saturday afternoons.  That built future stock car racers.  Management should meet the drivers and fans half-way and get a lap counter going and have paper towels in the restrooms.

So, if you pay $25 to see 13 mods, 2 streets and a drawn out show at a neglected track or show up and get told to go home because the "promoter" decides there are not enough people in the stands, you still need to keep on coming back, because if you don't, the "promoter" will pull the plug for good.  Who does this?  Been a fan there for over 40 years, but if this is what it has come to, put an end to it.

Rg23 thanks for the vote of confidence...under the right circumstance I would take that job in a heart beat. I regularly day dream of taking the property over and turning it into the diamond it really can be. Unfortunately any promoter under Ralph has an uphill battle getting things done. I have kept quiet on most of the recent problems, but until Ralph realizes his us vs them attitude is the wrong way to run a business nothing can fix that place.

You can do it racermike26!  When I was there for the Tommy/Tony 110, after the races I was talking with some mod guys afterward, and we were talking about what we would do to the place if we won the lottery.  Dreams are free, but many great ideas.  They all go back to what it was in the 90s.  The advertising potential is huge with its placement on the thruway.  Get a salesperson out there and sell some billboard space.  You're on the I-90 for cripes sakes!

Ok ,what do we have to do to fix this ,has anyone called Ralph ? who could be a neutral component in a meeting with him ?who amongst all you racers could be a spokesperson ?
I think I speak for everyone that nobody wants to see the place close or become a dragrace only track !
Lets all get together and fix this.....im sure if we all work together and make things happen, we can make a go of this !
Do you think Ralph will shutdown the track if its filling his pockets ! and if it fills his pockets it should trickle down to the racers.
theres nothing like the smell of nitro in the morning
