Bicknell Racing Products (BRP) CanAm Series Tour By The Numbers
   …Points, Winners, Events …

St Catharines, ONT…As the Bicknell Racing Products (BRP) CanAm Series Tour prepares for an Independence Day weekend double-header we will look at the Tour by the numbers. Tour will be back in action at Little Valley on Thursday July 4 and Black Rock on Friday July 5.  On Saturday July 6 Woodhull will host a Series weekly event while Raceway regroups with an off weekend.

By the Numbers:

2013 Points: After four completed events and four rainouts Mother Nature tops the list with four wins; however, she has been disqualified!  The top 10 of 38 that have earned points on the Tour are: John Waters - 395, Jeremy Wonderling - 375, Glenn Whritenour - 330, Jason Knowles - 288, Bruce Miller - 287, Brian Knowles - 286, Ray Bliss - 272, Brady Wonderling - 270, Jay McConnell - 247, and Mike Wonderling - 246.  Bliss and McConnell are leading Rookie of the Year candidates.  The Series Champion will earn a minimum of $5000 while the Miles-Agency.com Rookie of the Year will earn $1000 plus point fund earnings.

Winners: 130 Tour completed Tour events have produced 39 different winners.  A three way tie at the top of the Winners List shows Jeff Chesebro, John Waters, and Jeremy Wonderling each with 13 wins.  Waters and Wonderling plan to add more to their totals while Chesebro is “catching up on business” at home and at Cheez’s Garage. Cheez has no plans to return to race, but he will have a role in the “Return To Our Roots” event at McKean County Raceway when the Series returns there on Thursday July 11. Fourth on the win list is Bruce Miller, the defending Series Champion, with 11 wins including the first ever BRP CanAm event which took place at Little Valley Speedway in July 2003. Those four are the only drivers with double-digit wins.

Other winners that continue to compete in BRP CanAm racing include Jim Johnson, Jon Rivers, and Glenn Whritenour each with three wins. Dave DuBois, Jason Knowles, and Quinn Sutherland each have a pair of BRP CanAm Tour event wins. Also the other Wonderling boys, Brady and Mikey, each have one win to their credit.

A complete list of the 39 winners will be posted at BRPCanAmSeries.com in the near future.

Venues:  The 130 Tour events have been held at 15 different venues.  Black Rock tops that list with 26 events completed at Dean Hoag’s race place.  Close behind Black Rock is Little Valley Speedway with 25 events completed at the beautiful Cattaraugus County Fair Grounds track.  Woodhull Raceway has hosted 17 Tour events since 2004.  An interesting note here is those events have been under the direction of three different track owners.  In the early years it was Scott and Amy Drake.  The Drakes sold to Vern Wasson who continued the tradition.  Last year Ted White bought the Steuben County facility and now hosts a very successful BRP CanAm Series program with both weekly and Tour events.  McKean County Raceway has hosted 13 events, but none since 2010.  That will change on Thursday July 11 when the Tour returns to the East Smethport track.  The only other track with double-digit events is Merrittville Speedway with 11 events in the BRP CanAm Record Book. Tracks with single-digit events include: Canandaigua Speedway (9), Cayuga County Fair Speedway (3), Eriez Speedway (1), Freedom Raceway (1), Humberstone Speedway (6), Penn Can Speedway (1), Raceway 5 (9), Ransomville Speedway (6), and Utica-Rome Speedway (1).  The Raceway 5 events were held when the track was known as Genesee Speedway.  The Tour will return there on Thursday July 18 during the County Fair.  It has been a great 130 event ride at these 15 tracks and we will add I-88 Speedway in Afton, NY to the record book with our event there on Wednesday July 24.

Numbers, numbers, and more numbers with more numbers to come as the Series rolls through its 11th Anniversary season.

See you at Little Valley on Thursday July 4 and Black Rock on Friday July 5………….

Why dont you get a real tech guy and actually do tech and catch the guys that  are cheating. Everyone knows the 11 and 3j and maybe more are cheating. Tear them down and check more that just a carb or more than just tubbing. How about stop worring about losing cars and make it fair so someone other than the same guys win all the time. Make it a show and have some good racing for a change. The brp class is a joke anymore cause you have let these driver get away with whAt ever they want. Regain control and stop the cheating.
If you dont know what your talking about KEEP your mouth SHUT!!!!

Or maybe GoFast24 should just go fast - like the GoFast11 and GoFast3J do.

Didn't the 15 win three weeks in a row at Woodhull earlier this year - with the 11 and 3J in the house?

They were all close races. One of them came down to Wayne Robertson, Johnny Waters, and Glen. 3 past champions duking it out for the win.

I do believe that this issue was brought up not long ago and put to rest matter of fact! Nothing illegal going on with either of them or any of the others that are running better than the rest.. What it comes down to is...................Shop time... Darn it, I said it, They do their time in the shop.. I know for a fact, they spend 6 solid days (they slack just a tad on a Sunday) going over the car etc.. You can't always assume someone is a cheater just because they prove themselves week after week.... Understand that they use each week as a learning curve and spend the days after going over everything and looking and seek to do better! If you want to see your favorite driver get some credits, then head on over to their shop and start doing the things all the guys on these cars do! They don't do it because they think they gain anything, they do it because they love to, and enjoy seeing their hard work (after they work all day at a paying job) pay off! Gary doesn't have to give you any sort of response, because honestly, your question was totally ignorant to begin with! As far as tech, hmmm.. lets see.. They all run at different tracks during non sanctioned shows so that means that you question all techs where ever 11 and 3J run correct? Gary doesn't  have a set tech team set up at all the tracks these guys might run on any given weekend! Get over your pissing and moaning and realize that so far this season has been an amazing one to watch unfold... There have been more on your toes crossing the finish line races between a few of them than we can even think back to! Isn't that what you ultimately seek? A keep the hair on the back of your neck standing straight up kind of race? Pretty sure you would complain if it was a train race...
I am starting to wonder a little bit about you ! And I quote "Everyone hates someone that wins all the time. if it was me i wouldnt even let it get to me. keep going out there winning races and do what you do best and wheel that car to the front." 7/17/12! Just sayin!  ???
