ISKY Cams Presents BRP CanAm Championship
…10th Anniversary Season Concludes On Saturday At Little Valley Speedway…
Little Valley, NY…Iskendarian Racing Cams will present the season ending championship race for the Bicknell Racing Products (BRP) CanAm Series on Saturday September 15 at Little Valley Speedway on the Cattaraugus County Fairgrounds in Little Valley, NY.
“ISKY Cams is proud to be a long time marketing partner for the BRP CanAm Series. For the 10th Anniversary season we have moved the championship race venue to Little Valley Speedway. Our first event was at Cayuga County Fair Speedway then it was moved to Black Rock Speedway. More important than location is the fact that we are delighted that many of the engine builders use our Iskendarian products in the open engine program of the BRP CanAm Series. Open engines is the key to our involvement. All of us here at Iskendarian Racing Cams wish all of the competitors good luck in the championship race,” relayed Richard Iskendarian from his office in Gardena, California. The battle for the 2012 Championship has come down to Bruce Miller of Wellsville, NY and John Waters of Whitesville.
Miller leads the Tour point standings by 43 points over Waters entering championship night. However, home track bonus points (HTBP) will be added to determine the champion.
Waters has already earned the maximum of 100 HTBP while Miller currently has 91 HTBP. Accordingly, the adjusted gap is 34 points. The HTBP program will continue until Woodhull Raceway completes its 2012 season on September 29.
The bottom line is that Miller must leave Little Valley with something more than a nine point advantage to lock up the championship. Anything less and he will need to improve on his HTBP advantage in the remaining events at Woodhull Raceway.
Miller and Waters each have two Series tour event wins in their point tally. The Memorial Day weekend event at Little Valley is where most of the point spread occurred. Waters did not finish that race and was credited with 22nd finish while Miller finished fifth resulting in a 38 point advantage for Miller.
The current point spread ensures that both drivers must race hard for the 2012 title. Waters will be going all out for a win on Saturday night while Miller needs to make sure he either leads Waters to the finish or is very close behind.
BRP CanAm Series tour event points (top 10 of 59): 1. Bruce Miller – 470, 2. John Waters – 427, 3. Mikey Wonderling – 402, 4. Jeremy Wonderling – 381, 5. Dusty Waters – 359, 6. Mike Wonderling, 7. Jason Knowles – 322, 8.Brian Knowles – 311, 9. Quinn Sutherland – 300, 10. Dave DuBois - 272
Little Valley Speedway gates will open at 3:00 on Saturday for a 6:30 start. In addition to the ISKY Cams BRP CanAm Series championship the 360 late models will be racing for the track championship. That point battle has Jason Knowles leading Mikey Wonderling by eight points. Neither has ever won a Little Valley Speedway track title. Joining the BRP CanAm late models on Saturday will be the super late models, 358 modifieds, and street stocks. More information at
