She was on TV in my house. I don't think I misunderstood her!

By Seth Livingstone, USA TODAY, CONCORD, N.C. - 1/23/2012

Danica Patrick won't run the Indianapolis 500 this year, but, driving for Sprint Cup champion Tony Stewart, she thinks her chances are as good as anybody's to win the Daytona 500 in her first try.

Patrick's Cup crew chief, Greg Zipadelli, who doubles as director of competition at Stewart-Haas Racing, smiles when he hears Patrick talk of winning.
"I love the confidence, that she's not afraid to think that she can," he said.

Added Stewart, the reigning series champ: "It would be big for everybody — big for her, big for NASCAR.

Here's the hot tip for all of you Danica fans to get your big money bets in early for her to win the Daytona 500 this year.

The trio of Danica, Zippy and Tony are flush with confidence.  Ignore the fact that her average finish in the Nationwide series last year was 22nd.  Trevor won last year, so it should be no shock to anyone to see Danica in the winners circle at Daytona 500 this year!

The rest of us, like myself, are probably starting to better understand where Tony got the nickname, "Smoke."

Some of us may go with a more conservative pick.  Mr. Pissano told me that he's going with Carl Edwards to win....

All it will take for her to win at Daytona is for Nascar to accidentally give her the wrong restrictor plate and for her not to mess up.  Half of that is almost a sure thing.

$$ talks... from Jayski,

•Danica to get owner points from Baldwin? Reutimann in the #10? Danica Patrick will be a guaranteed starter in the 2012 Daytona 500, using owner points from Tommy Baldwin Racing. Multiple sources say a deal is nearly complete to make Patrick a guaranteed starter in Stewart Haas Racing's #10 Chevy in the 2012 NASCAR Sprint Cup season opener, using owner points accrued last season by driver Dave Blaney in TBR's #36 Chevy. Blaney will now be forced to qualify for the "Great American Race" on time. Patrick is scheduled to run approximately 10 Sprint Cup races this season, and TBR driver David Reutimann will run many of the events Patrick does not; also in the #10 machine. While Patrick will drive Stewart Haas cars purchased from Hendrick Motorsports in her 10 races, Reutimann will steer Baldwin's cars in his outings. TBR will reportedly receive technical and pit crew support from SHR as part of the deal.(Sirius Speedway)(1-30-2012)

Sucks for Dave Blaney he and his team worked hard and got a sponsor and not even locked into the 500. He shouldn't have too big of a problem getting in anyways due to all of the new useless teams starting this year but still. I don't even know why they are worrying so much about danica making the race she could easily do it on qualifying day with the equipment she has. (I could even do it with that top notch equipment). $$$ and that she is hot defiantly talks over fairness now in Nascar.
Somewhere between slow and fast is second place.

Paul Menard?????? I wouldnt even consider him on my list... or maybe I would, On my list of drivers that will contend for the chase... I predict Menard will contend for the chase this year and even if he misses he will be a top 15 driver, Danica doesnt shake a stick to Menard, heres another prediction: Danica will crash more than she will finish races.

At least Menard has one more Indy win than Danica...I agree that Tony better better have a deal in place with Hendrick to replace the ones she wrecks!

Danica doesn't go fast enough to crash.

I have a prediction myself - I say this union spells certain disaster and that there will be severe personality conflicts between Tony and Danica because both have egos, and both have tempers. There will be a lot of initial eggshell walking, and then a major blowup buy the 4th of July...

Wanna bet?
If they can have artists, pianists, florists, dentists and bicyclists... then I must be a racist.

I think you're right Bob.  Danica will be the "deadwood" of 2012.
