Danica Patrick won't run the Indianapolis 500 this year, but, driving for Sprint Cup champion Tony Stewart, she thinks her chances are as good as anybody's to win the Daytona 500 in her first try.
Patrick's Cup crew chief, Greg Zipadelli, who doubles as director of competition at Stewart-Haas Racing, smiles when he hears Patrick talk of winning.
"I love the confidence, that she's not afraid to think that she can," he said.
Added Stewart, the reigning series champ: "It would be big for everybody — big for her, big for NASCAR.

Here's the hot tip for all of you Danica fans to get your big money bets in early for her to win the Daytona 500 this year.
The trio of Danica, Zippy and Tony are flush with confidence. Ignore the fact that her average finish in the Nationwide series last year was 22nd. Trevor won last year, so it should be no shock to anyone to see Danica in the winners circle at Daytona 500 this year!
The rest of us, like myself, are probably starting to better understand where Tony got the nickname, "Smoke."
Some of us may go with a more conservative pick. Mr. Pissano told me that he's going with Carl Edwards to win....
