Title: Holland Speedway Pro Mods/Latemodels ?
Post by: Tigerpaw333 on November 23, 2015, 11:06:07 AM
the weekly Holland racing card will feature NYPA TQ Midgets, INEX Legends, Hornets, M&M U Pull It Figure 8'S and the Future 4'S.

We have been in discussions with the management team from Lancaster National Speedway regarding a series between the two tracks for both the Pro Modified and for the Late Models with a specific number of races to be held at both venues.

So based off of this does this mean that the pro mods/ Late models will no longer be part of the weekly show at Holland?

With 3 tracks running SportMods on the same night in WNY it only makes sense. For Holland especially as the car counts
were terrible last year. Welcome to asphalt reality 2016 style.

It makes sense as far as the sportsman class goes, but why wouldn't they promote the Late Models back to the premier division and give them a chance (they really couldn't have expected the Late Model class to prosper as a support division running for support division pay)?

Late Model class to this day is still split. One common rule with flexibility is needed Wish Holland and Lancaster would both go in with that Canadian APC United Late Model Series.

Street Stocks running for the National Championship?  It would be cool to see Sport Mod teams from Spencer and Chemung running Street Stocks at Holland to get hose extra points.

I think im done with racing.

That's kinda funny, I felt the exact same way when the sportsman started taking over the weekly shows from the modifieds.  Everyone thinks I hate the sportsman class, but I don't. I just don't consider it a "premier class".

I think its excellent to give an affordable class the chance at the NYS Title.  The SS Class may be a "Feeder" division to some, but I think its filled with the guys who have the most heart instead of the most disposable income.

But what do I know?

Probably best to ask the guys on Raceny that have never invested more than the cost of admission and a few hot dogs...

Chargers are the premier division now because they don't have enough cars in the pro mods and late model classes to be a premier division.

so if the chargers are the feature class one woud think front gate prices would drop

Thats funny stuff cheaper at the gate ?????we all know the gate prices are never gonna change they may go up never down / tracks to small anyway no room to race only way to pass move them out of the way >:(then you have someone thats gonna move you at the wrong time.At one time they had some pretty good racing there now not enough cars hardly a crowd hmmmmm I;m thinking fishing hole you could charge 20 bucks to fish there and 10 bucks for a dozen worms 8)

Without the mods an lates that's a 8$ show I thought the mod counts were not that bad he is going to sink that place.

what was the purse for the sports mod?How does that compare to shang, chemung spencer or lancaster?just wondering what a fair purse would be for a weekly 40-50 lap show

Just wondering, why anyone would think that 40-50 laps is an appropriate distance for a weekly feature - for any class?

Here is what should happen.

Holland featured class is Late Models with a mixed 602 604 engine rules
2 supporting classes (Chargers and Pro 4)
and guest class ( TQ's or Legends or ROC or Sportsman race)

out - Fig 8, rookie class,

Lancaster featured class is Sportsman.
2 supporting classes (Streets and 4 cylinders)
and a guess class (Big 10/NY State Super Stocks or ROC or TQ's)

40 or 50 lap race purse should be $250 to start for 20 positions $2,500 to win plus lap money. Send some drivers home to increase the back end of the purse. Plus, everyone loves the last chance consi races.

Asphalt tracks have a big issue long races do not mean better racing.

Were you wearing your hockey helmet when you wrote this? Too small to race? In the 16 years I've been racing I've spent allot of time running side by side with people at Holland.

Did you race at Holland at all last year dlondos? I am just trying to put the car with the name. Name don't look familiar. I know at least a few guys that raced at Holland also raced a few times at Lancaster also. Don't remember many Lancaster cars coming to Holland. When Lancaster closed down, some of the streets came to Holland and seemed to be able to run side by side and pass without moving anybody. They actually put on a great show and were fast. Were you one of those cars??

So I am hearing 3 Late Model races and 3 Sportsman races at Holland. If so that is terrible. The 602 Late Models can not compete at Lancaster so the 602 guys will only race 3 races a year.

WCIS lets get some Late Models back on your track

How many sport mods could Holland hope to attract for three Saturday night shows with both Lancaster and WCIS running sport mods full time on Saturday nights?

im sure Lancaster would be off when Holland is running the Sport Mods. Decker race, Bud 100 and maybe another money race or now will the charger class get the 100 lap race?
Title: Re: Holland Speedway Pro Mods/Latemodels ?
Post by: dlondos on November 29, 2015, 07:58:09 PM
Well yes i did race there a couple of times but lancaster didn't close we left then they wanted us back .somewhere along the line theres no way you can run three different tracks all on the same night , lancaster had alot of cars this season not many tracks can compete with lancaster that track is smooth and fast  8)

How many cars every Saturday in the streets at Lancaster? Sorry I forgot you guys "left" Lancaster, all I'm saying is a lot of Lancaster streets came to Holland when they "left" Lancaster and had no problem running side by side and passing with out moving anybody. In fact , they were fun to watch. Good luck to you this season, hope to get out to Lancaster to watch.

Lancaster racing is like watching paint dry on a rainy day compared to the racing at holland. Lancaster needs to get rid of that stupid little track. If your car's can't run on the big track than don't have them race there. Holland is usually always side by side beating and banging racing. Lancaster looks like it should be a dirt track

RP22,,,  Since they paved Lancaster the racing has been very good to say the least. (Dunno what yer watchin)The track is trying to get better for the racers and fans as it showed in car counts and packed stands last year!

That's good, because Holland wouldn't run 4 extra caution laps every caution to wait for you (dlondos) to line up correctly, like Lancaster did at the open in street stock race. Atleast I hope they wouldn't. Why you reading this thread if your so anti-Holland anyway?

To bad Holland bailed on the pro-mods/ sportmods, with all the interest generated at Lancaster. From the roomer mill more cars entering the division & 24 spots to race at Lancaster. In my opinion with the introduction of all the top flight/big $$$ teams going to Lancaster, they'll be a lot of cars/teams that maybe don't have the resources the big guys do, discouraged in not being able to race. Holland might have picked up some cars that haven't raced there before.

Thats fine as long as you don,t mind racing only three times a year .lancaster is on its way to an epic year lots of cars and fans in the stands RP22 if your not scared of terring up your stuff you should not be racing  ;)
Title: Re: Holland Speedway Pro Mods/Latemodels ?
Post by: nye51 on January 11, 2016, 11:00:21 AM
Holland doesn't want to pay more than 500 to win 50 to start, lancaster has a 2 tire rule and is going to pay 200-250$ to start and hopefully 1000 to win with 20+ cars weekly...Holland just dug their own grave...How NASCAR even allows a charger class to run against late models and modified for a state championship is beyond me, either way Lancaster is going to be the place to be this year

No matter the reason, never a good thing to hear a track dropping a division, especially one of this caliber. Maybe the management at Holland is losing interest in NASCAR with that move. Maybe some calls to NASCAR in Florida to see what they no about it? I believe Lancaster is $200 to start & $750 to win unless they get another private sponsor to add to the winner.
