Racing Discussion / Re: Canandaigua meeting
« on: 08 Dec, 2017 10:55 »
Sunny, Thanks for the Update. I really appreciate all your info you post! Years ago it was a lot simpler because there were a lot of DIRT sanctioned tracks that ran Hoosiers. That is not the case now as we have a lot of non-DIRT tracks. Back in the day you would never see a sanctioned DIRT race at a Non DIRT sanctioned track that also ran a different tire. Now we have sportsman races where one race for Hoosiers and one race for A.R. tires at the same track on the same night? What does the Grit series do if they are at a non DIRT sanction track, run the tires sanctioned at the track. I only ran a few GRIT races two being at Rolling wheels. They had a feature for each tire???????. I get the idea that CMP will run one tire,(Hoosiers) for grit races. I appreciate a promoter offering a race for each tire but if I was a fan I would scratch my head and think WTF. I know that it is brought up that 4 features with the same car but different motors or rules could be mind numbing to fans. Obviously Fulton has proved that wrong. They have two features just for the Nov-is class due to having so many cars show up. You don't see multiple big block races to accommodate Tire brands.

What is the deal with the Dirt license? If I am running Outlaw speedway and I decide I want to run Canandaigua one Saturday night. Do you have to buy a Dirt license?

The thing that burned me last year was that every time their was a special show like the Patriot sprints the back gate would go up $5 and I sure did not get any more at the pay window. Why am I paying for that? It is not like I ever get to watch.

Racing Discussion / Americarna Tv show.......AWSOME!!!!
« on: 29 Nov, 2017 16:00 »
Was home sick yesterday and binged watched a bunch off shows. The show about Evans and Cook was great,(the Battle for Rome). Did any one notice that when the cook coup was being assembled that there was a Lou Lazaro #4 sitting on the chassis. I noticed the body on a shelf in a previous episode. The other show that was notable to our area was the restoration of Andretti  car that raced at Indi in 1965. It was said that the car was latter sold to Fred Graves to run at Oswego. They interviewed Fred and he said they won only one race with it and it was a Lancaster. Any thoughts??

What a night!!! Sportsman points decided by 3 markers. BB TIE!!! M. Shepard laps the field up to 6th in the make up feature from the pole> Justin Hears held a clinic last night in the reg mod feature. The Subject was FAST. It has been a long time since I witnessed some thing like that. Hears left nothing on the table. Bob Mcready comes to mind. You could tell he was on a mission.

Racing Discussion / BB points at CMP ????
« on: 31 Aug, 2017 08:31 »
I checked out the points race at CMP. Super Matt has 7 wins 11 top 5s. Justin Hears 1 win 11 top 5s and yet they are 5 points apart. The only difference is Matt has 12 starts and Justin has 13. I would think that Matt S. would be way ahead with 6 more wins. ???

I should say that I raced against the vega in vintage races. I did have Don Turner as a crew chief. We had a ball!! I liked driving to the track with him and listening to all the story's.
