The BUZZ - social media feeds
« on: May 15, 2018, 03:22:45 PM »
We're experimenting with new feature called "The BUZZ" over in the Press Release section.  With the majority of race tracks moving to social media platforms to share public information, we've developed a method to subscribe to many race track's social media RSS feeds.

Our hope is to help the tracks promote their brand of racing via their social media platforms and hopefully keep everyone informed and up-to-date about all tracks in New York State and it's region. Please note these are READ ONLY messages and are linked directly to the track's social media platform.

Enjoy...please share feedback here or via PM. Thanks!

I have learned more about racing in NY State than I ever knew, from this...I hope you all are exploring the BUZZ, too.  :)

GO NY State racing!

been buzzing here. just looks like more to look thru instead of the locked and relocated information of old.
face it. the fact is that its old news. history to be exact. news and current happenings are buzz worthy.
promotors don't get it. never have, never will. you will get more people in the stands by informing them whats going on this week instead of what went on last week. by monday night last weekends news is history, plain and simple. all media should be promoting the upcoming event by mid-week at the very latest if putting butts on the boards is your goal. people want to know what they will see not what they missed.
you don't operate your car while staring in the rear view, why do it in a business type situation?
the way you look is the way you go.
try this little experiment in your car next time your cruising down the highway. look in the right hand mirror long enough and you will go off the right side of the road. same thing with the left, you will drift to the left.
look in the rear view long enough and people start passing you. why? could it be you slowed down perhaps?
look at the hood pins and you will end up rearending somebody someday.
my advice is to look as far ahead as you can see no matter what your doing and you will end up money ahead.

keep on buzzin!
You can't buy intelligence, but I can give it away.

Thanks Dave, we hope it works out good for everybody. I'm testing the Twitter RSS feeds now although it appears to be a lot of redundant information in conjunction with the Facebook feeds. Might need to parse out the Twitter stuff into a separate area.

nice addition Admin! Once it gets all smoothed out it is a great place to go check out a particular track.

Great job. That is impressive. (and something DTD does not have).  :)

Thanks Andy.  And like lynchmob said...once the feeds get caught up and settled (gathering older content), the newer content will start appearing at the top of the board. Some feeds have already settled and are working correctly. Like, I just learned Utica-Rome has a pick-4 contest and the first is this weekend on May 20th. Who knew?  :D
