RACE OF CHAMPIONS & NYPA TQ MIDGET SERIES TO WORK TOGETHER TO BUILD STRONG FOUNDATION OF FUTURE TQ MIDGET RACING BEGINNING WITH RACE OF CHAMPIONS WEEKEND AT LAKE ERIE SPEEDWAY, SEPTEMBER 25, 26 AND 27

- Introduction of the “Printed Image Cup” presented by Printed Image of Buffalo for 2021 -

 

North East, PA – (August 31, 2020) – Race of Champions Late and NYPA TQ Midget Series competitors will have the opportunity to compete on two days of racing, Saturday, September 26 and Sunday, September 27 as part of Presque Isle Downs and Casino, Race of Champions Weekend in North East, Pa., at Lake Erie Speedway.

 

On Saturday, September 26, the NYPA TQ Midget Series will take part in a 20 lap feature event as a points paying race in the NYPA program.

 

On Sunday, September 27, the Race of Champions TQ Midget Series will take part in the “Harry Macy Classic” featuring a 29-lap TQ Midget feature. On Sunday, teams may run their NYPA TQ Midget Series tires, however, a Hoosier MG5 right rear tire will be required. Teams wishing to run Hoosier tires on all four corners may do so.

 

This is an effort to strengthen the TQ Midget program across the region. When the season concludes it is the intent of Race of Champions management to work with Hoosier racing tire to build a new, more efficient TQ Midget tire for all corners of the car.

 

In addition, Race of Champions and NYPA Series management is proud to announce the introduction of a unique program for the 2021 season, which will be the presented by Printed Image of Buffalo, the official printer for the Race of Champions Modified Series. “The Printed Image Cup” will go to the driver that can earn the best performance in both the Race of Champions and NYPA TQ Series events and the first “Cup” will be handed out at Lake Erie Speedway, based on the best performance by any driver during the two race weekend.

 

“This is great program to help bring TQ Midget racing together,” stated Rich Zavarella, Sr., the owner of Printed Image of Buffalo. “Our family has long been a part of TQ Midget racing throughout our region, which includes Western New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Canada and we are always looking at ways to make it better. We felt this was a great way to bring things together. We are looking forward to a great weekend at Lake Erie and even better 2021 season.”

 

All TQ Midget registration for the event will be done through the Race of Champions website for the event.

 

Tickets may be purchased for the weekend and will be available at the Lake Erie Speedway ticket office or at www.lakeeriespeedway.com. In the event that there is inclement weather, the event will be postponed to 2021, due to the prior commitment to Mahoning Valley Speedway and their Race of Champions Modified Series event on Saturday, October 3, with an agreed upon and announced inclement weather date of Saturday, October 10.

 

Ticket prices for Friday, September 25; Adult, Senior, Children (Infant – 16) – Grandstands Free. Pit Pass – $30

 

Ticket prices for Saturday, September 26; Adult General Admission Tickets - $20; Senior General Admission Tickets - $17; Reserved Seat Tickets (Regardless of Age) - $25 – Children (6-16) – General Admission Tickets - $10; Children Under 5 General Admission Tickets – Free; Pit Passes – $45.

 

Ticket prices for Sunday, September 27; Adult General Admission Tickets - $35; Senior General Admission Tickets - $33; Reserved Seat Tickets (Regardless of Age) - $40 – Children (6-16) – General Admission Tickets - $12; Children Under 5 General Admission Tickets – Free; Pit Passes – $65.

If you plan to attend the weekend and camp at the facility, spots will be sold at the track for the designated camping areas for $40 for the entire weekend. Camping will go up to $50 after September 1st.  Tickets and camping spots for the Presque Isle Downs & Casino Race of Champions Weekend are available at the Lake Erie Speedway ticket office 814.725.3303.
