Monday, March 16th Update...please read our entire message.

We hope that everyone is doing well during this unprecedented time in our nations history.  As we have seen the Corona Virus has and will greatly effect all of our lives.

Our practice scheduled for this Saturday is still on at this point.  We have worked through plans to make this a viable opportunity for teams to get some practice in.  We will update as the week goes on.

Our 70th Anniversary Tee Shirts have arrived.  We have had a lot of interest in the shirts.  If you live out of town or even locally and want your shirt mailed we can do that.  The total cost would be $25 per shirt and includes shipping and handling.

Simply mail your order and check, including quantities and sizes to us at P.O. Box 54 Kirkwood, NY  13795.

This week is the last week to be able to secure your 2020 Pit Membership at the discounted rate.  Memberships will be available after this week at all practices and race events as well.  You can print forms off of our website.

As many of you know full racing programs were held at Lincoln, Port Royal and Williams Grove Speedway's in Pennsylvania this past weekend.  Our first full race isn't scheduled to take place until Saturday, April 4th.  Of course we will monitor that event as needed as we get closer.

With regard to practice this Saturday, IF it occurs spectators will not be permitted in the grandstands to watch.  This would be open only to race teams.  Pitting would occur on the homestretch upper parking lot as we have done in the past.  We would leave the backstretch gates open if any spectators want to watch from within their personal vehicle.

No food would be available on site for this practice.  We have also had many teams asking if they can reserve their 2020 parking spots.  That would be permitted on Saturday during the practice.  Teams could put their pit signs in place on the backstretch pit area for the upcoming season.

Being an outdoor gathering with less than 100 people our practices do comply with current state structuring.  We would ask that teams bring exact dollar amounts for pit entrance to limit the exchange of money and personal contact.  Pit admission is $25 for all of our practices and we would have a drop bucket for money.

Hand sanitizers will be available at the pit sign in areas and we ask that teams bring their own garbage bags and take any of their personal rubbish back home with them.  Of course practice is not a required activity so teams are welcome to participate or not.

Many things can change between now and this Saturday so we will update things as the week goes on.  We plan on working on the track more today and the surface will be ready to go for Saturday.

We wish everyone the best in the days and weeks to come.  We can be reached via email at fivemilepoint1@aol.com and our website can be found at www.5milepointspeedway.com.

One other thing we are discussing is our April 4th race event.  The race does not have massive payouts without Modifieds racing that day.  We are looking at all options including possibly racing without spectators on the property while providing a live video stream for people to watch at home.

We will explore all options in the days and weeks to come but our main goal is to work within current guidelines and we are roughly three weeks away from our season opening event.

Our plan for all of our scheduled events is to take a "wait and see" approach.  IF the virus becomes a long period pandemic we will open our season at a later date.  We know that our fans and teams are anxious and looking forward to these dates but we will only host events under a safe environment.

Again, we wish the best to all of our fans and teams and we will update our plans often during the days and weeks to come.
