In what has grown into one of the biggest nights of the racing season, The 2020 edition of Danbury RaceArena night at The Bethel Motor Speedway is going to be absolutely must see event!

Presented by Lajoies Auto and Scrap Recycling the racing stars of today will pay tribute to the stars of yesterday with FOUR races honoring some of the best wheel men of the SNYRA on July 11th........Thats right 7/11!

Speaking of one of the highlights of the night the mighty DIRT modified division will go 71 laps in the Don Lajoie modified championship!

Don Lajoie, Father to 2 time Busch Series (now Xfinity Series) champion Randy Lajoie and grandfather to now current NASCAR Cup Series driver Corey Lajoie is one of Danbury's all time winningest drivers. Don is expected to be on hand to serve as our grand marshal and even might bring along one of  his famed 711 race cars that competed at the RaceArena.

In what is now a staple event on the calendar The Ev Pierce Memorial 50 lap championship for the NASCAR BMS Asphalt Modifieds will again be in action this year. "Evie", as he was known to many was a true gentle giant of a man but was tough as nails behind the wheel. Ev not only raced at Danbury but spent a few years later in his career racing right here at The Bethel Motor Speedway racing in what is now the BMS modifieds, even winning a track championship in 1992! We continue to honor the great career of "Big Ev" by going racing in the Ev Pierce Memorial Championship!

A great new addition to this years event is The Nick Giardina 25 lap championship for the NASCAR 602 Sportsman Modifieds. The winner of this event also gets the 3rd starting spot in the Don Lajoie 71 later in the evening!

Nick Giardina was a founding member of the Southern New York Racing Association (SNYRA) and one of RaceArena's top drivers from the tracks opening till its closing in 1981. Nick has been a frequent visitor and friend to The Bethel Motor Speedway. We expect Nick and his beautifully restored #25 car to be in attendance on race day!

Last but certainly not least, The Vintage Modifieds will honor 9 time Danbury RaceArena track champion Chick Stockwell in a 15 lap memorial event.

Chick, was a fixture at the famed oval in Danbury for decades. Not only one of the tracks all time winningest drivers but a true fan favorite, winning Danbury's most popular driver award a consecutive six times from 1976 till the tracks closure in 1981.

As we do every year we expect many of the former Danbury RaceArena drivers, crew and fans to be in attendance with us. A driver autograph session and the always popular interviews at intermission will also be going taking place on race day!

Make sure you make plans to join us as we continue a yearly tradition at The Bethel Motor Speedway remembering and honoring the cars and stars of the GREAT Danbury RaceArena and SNYRA!
