Land of Legends Live Streaming
« on: January 15, 2020, 10:42:52 AM »
Has been an interesting point of discussion this week...

Land of Legends Raceway announced on Saturday a new Live Streaming service, offering a season subscription for $150 (just $7.50 a show for their 20-race schedule) when purchased by April 1st and week to week subscriptions available for the same price as General Admission tickets. Looking like a great thing for fans, teams and attracting new eyeballs to their facility.

What do you think?

I think itís a great idea for those whom may not be able to attend and want to enjoy the show. And a great revenue stream for the track. However, for me itís just not the same as smelling the race fuel feeling the roar of the cars and feeling the tingle of dust in my eyes. Yeah Iíd rather be there.....

Where it gets tricky is if fans choose to just sit at home instead of going to the track. I think it has very serious economic impact.

For example, the Indy 500 blacks out the race on TV in Indianapolis. Similarly, Bills games can be blacked out in Rochester and elsewhere...all designed to get people to the facility.

Maybe the streaming should be tape-delayed...like offered at 10PM on a race night. Or as an on-demand after the race.

I love the idea but I agree with T20won, not the same as being there...

Just my $0.02.
