I went over to see Loren's car up close after watching him get hip checked, slam dunked and pile driven in that wreck. I sat on the second row of the pit grandstands, directly in line with the crash. The noise in the stands was LOUD. Nobody said much until everyone was seen moving around in their cars. That lasted about 2 to 2 1/2 minutes because the track is back lit from that view. You really couldn't see well into the cockpits of the cars.
I asked Loren if he was ok. He said he was hit pretty hard, and while he felt fine at the time, he also said he was sure he'd probably feel it the next day. I didn't want to bother him too much as he and his crew were trying to put enough of the car back together to get it into the trailer. I did notice one thing though... bars and tubing were either bent or broken at the welds, or ripped off completely all over the place from the firewall all the way forward to the front bumper. Loren is a master at repairing cars, and he definitely has his work cut out for him to fix that one.
