Three wide photo finish for the win.......1-28-76

Bobby Jones by .007 for the win.

Might have been worth the trip and the admission?......

That Modified race was worth every penny of that admission price and 5 hour ride, Late Model race had a crazy finish also at the line.

It was my first ever visit to Mahoning Valley and I was totally impressed with the racing action in all divisions. I got asked to do video by Dino Oberto at the EMPA committee meeting on Wednesday night as their regular video guy Big Mike is having medical issues and couldn't attend. Sure glad I made the almost 4 hour trip to see some of the best asphalt action I have seen in years with all divisions.  The Mod 200 saw the leaders running 3 wide on the final lap entering turn 3 and Bobby Jones got the hard fought win by .007 seconds. The Late Models had a thriller as well with Loren Arthofer sliding sideways across the finish line after getting run over in turn 4 and Frankie Althouse was a very tight 2nd against the wall as the car that rammmed Arthofer was dq'd. All racing saw plenty of 2 wide racing on the quarter mile circle with many 3 wide taking place as well in all classes.  Just awesome racing and glad I went thanks to Dino asking me. The 240 mile trip was worth it and I hope to return when my schedule permits in the future.  I have video available of the entire events for sale at Thomas Video, PO Box 447, Geneva, NY, 14456. Each DVD is $20 plus $5 for shipping and it runs 3 full hours with all of the days action for all classes.
