Still LMAO at you “rinky-dink” lovers from posts on RaceNewYork in the past few weeks. I actually feel sorry for most of you.
Like this one from the post titled “CHEMUNG SPEEDROME UP SATURDAY NIGHT FOR RACE OF CHAMPIONS ASPHALT MODIFED SERIES”.
Oneill71mod asks: Where do they "Stamp" the engines???
All I have to say to that is “DUH”. I guess you are not much of a “modified expert” as you claim. Don't worry you are not alone, you share the same knowledge as Laminate.
And sgt12, I hope that your screen name which contains the abbreviation for Sergeant, isn't a claim to that rank. As you wouldn't make a pimple on a........you know how to finish this sentence. The race last night was done in 59 minutes. It was no joke. Even if Preece brought out the caution on purpose, and was cited for it, he would have drove to the front like he did at Stafford last week. If you were there (and this is for you too Laminate), after time trials at Stafford he was found outside the rule book/cheating/being sneaky, or whatever you want to call it. He was put to the rear for the race along with the Brady 00. Preece then drove to the front and won that race. And the Brady 00 drove up and finished in the top 10. You must not have been there, or Thompson last night. Keep watching “rinky-dink” you make for humorous posts here with Laminate and others. It's obvious you never set foot in New England.
Now onto Laminate. You say: “26 cars WoW!! That's Rinky Dink +2 and 6 less than the best Mod series out there. TTOM”.
Now, all the cars last night at Thompson were real modifieds. And 16 of those teams have made all nine (9) point races on the schedule so far. What does your “rinky-dink” have, like 7 or 8 teams with perfect attendance? And lets not forget the sportsman cars that are in there. Now, Laminate, lets talk about that Try-Track thingy. You'll notice the “Y” in the name. I just don't have the heart to use anything else. You see, there is only one series that can ever claim that title of Tri-Track. And that was back a few decades ago, and included Middletown, Flemington, and Nazareth. But, I guess plagiarism is alive (for this year anyway) and not-so-well in your world of “rinky-dink”. You see, some of my friends over at Stafford showed me a poll taken to determine the most attended and liked modified series (even your New York “rinky-dink” was there, unfortunately it only made it to a single digit percentage). And low and behold, more than half voted for NWMT. Your Try-Track thing only garnered around a quarter of the vote. So, you see the people that buy the tickets and attend the races have spoken. Not sitting here in New York like you and a few others, and wishing you were there. Now, that this poll is out, let me tell you this, race tracks and promoters like to make money, not lose money, or even break even. The talk is your Try-Track thingy is not cutting it, and the only way it came about this year is the new owners monetary contribution to the purse. And this comes from some very reliable sources. So, enjoy the “no tech” series while you can. As deep pockets will soon appear that they are filled with fish hooks, and not in the best interest to dig into.
Two more items Laminate, you will notice that the real modified tour makes it way past the first lap before a caution (Riverhead-lap 35/Stafford-lap 36/Thompson- lap 58). I think you go to the race track in anticipation of lengthy qualifying procedures (time trial, heat races, then a re-draw) and waiting on the next caution flag. I don't, I go to the track to watch racing.
And lastly Laminate, I am still waiting on an answer about where that #41 SK is at. You seem to know everything there is to know about “Chump Change”. And, I am sure we will see the Pee Pee Motorsports or Wee Wee Motorsports or whatever it is called black car again. The last time I saw it, it tried passing cars under yellow at Myrtle Beach, and tore the side off the #82
