OUTLAW SPEEDWAY 2020 AWARDS BANQUET TO BE HELD IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE ANNUAL ARNOT MALL CAR SHOW.

Saturday night, March 27, 2021 is the date for the yearly awards ceremony.
(Dundee, NY) It was recently announced that the 2020 Outlaw Speedway Awards Banquet will be held at the Arnot Mall in Big Flats, NY as part of the 2021 Outlaw Speedway Car Show.

The Arnot Mall has a banquet room capable of legally seating 300 people as per NYS Health Department guidelines, plenty of room for the annual gala event.

“This is a perfect fit, stated track owner/promoter, Tyler Siri.  The Outlaw Car Show runs Saturday and Sunday, March 27 and 28 at the Arnot Mall.  We have readjusted the already aggressive Saturday schedule and moved the Driver Autograph Session and the Tire Changing Competition to the afternoon and then we will step right into the banquet at 7:30 pm. Nobody has to leave the building.  Quite honestly, I was not sure we would even have a banquet this year due to all the stiff regulations, however everything is falling into place to still give our racers the awards they deserve.”

Sir then went on to say, “The Harbor Hotel in Watkins Glen, NY had been the site of previous Outlaw Speedway Banquets, however with NYS guidelines there would have not been enough seating area to accommodate all those wishing to attend.”
The massive banquet room at the Arnot Mall is capable of seating over 700, but with the current protocol including social distancing, 300 is the magic number.

The top ten in the final point standings in each of Outlaw Speedways 2020 weekly divisions of competition will receive their trophies and point fund money and the track will also present numerous additional special awards to several worthy recipients.
Only 300 tickets will be sold on a first come first serve basis and all drivers receiving awards are required to attend in proper attire.

Tickets are $42.00 per person and checks for the correct number of tickets can be mailed to:  Outlaw Speedway, 1163 Hibbard Road, Horseheads, NY 14845.  Please do not forget to include a return address where tickets can be mailed.
Tickets sales will not be available at the door.

A Family That Races Together

RANSOMVILLE, NY (January 22, 2021) Dan and Brandon Michaud along with Brandon’s girlfriend Jessica Kriegisch are all calling Ransomville Speedway home in 2021. The trio will all be competing in the Investor’s Service Sportsman division weekly.

Dan Michaud will be entering his sixth season of racing in the Sportsman division. Dan started his racing career on two wheels as he raced Motocross for six years. “I had the number 133 in Motocross, and it is the same number on my racecar,” Dan said. “What I like most about Ransomville is how fast the track is,” he added. Dan explained that racing against Brandon and Jessica will be good to help each other get faster each week. He is the driver of the American Ethanol, Lakewood Village number 133. Michaud would like to thank his wife Becki, son Hunter, his mom, dad, brother, and grandpa for their support.

After a couple of seasons running with the Krown Undercoating Modifieds, Brandon Michaud will be competing against his brother Dan and his girlfriend Jessica Kriegisch. Brandon will be the pilot of the Kuszlyk Custom Harvesting, Sterling Lubricants, Champion Oil 132. “Ever since I raced dirt bikes, I had the number 132 and it has stuck ever since,” Brandon said. “Ransomville is a fast, tough track and with the top-notch drivers that race there weekly makes for some good racing.”

“With all three of us racing together, it should be very interesting,” Brandon pointed out. “We all want to out-do each other so don’t be surprised to see a little bumper rubbing,” Brandon said while laughing. “It will be helpful with the three of us running the same cars and similar equipment, we may be able to learn faster on what works better at what time. But at the end of the day, it’s awesome to be able to enjoy the same hobby with the whole family.” Brandon’s goal for 2021 is winning heat races and hopes to get a feature win. He would like to thank his mom and dad, grandpa, Dan, Jessica, and Mitchell for their support.

After starting in go-karts at the age of seven, Jessica Kriegisch is coming to Ransomville with years of experience racing, including seven years of racing in a Sportsman. Jessica will be joining the Investor’s Services Sportsman full time in 2021. She has made a handful of starts at Ransomville over the past couple of seasons.  “I like Ransomville because the track is newer to myself and I love the challenge of learning how to drive new tracks as well and adapt my driving style to the different track conditions,” Jessica said. “Ransomville also has many great drivers who range in all different levels of experience which gives me a chance to watch and learn from everyone,” said Kriegisch. Recently moving to Medina, the PA native has been racing in the region for many years, primarily at Genesee Speedway, as well as making starts on both the RUSH Sportsman Series and the BEI Lightning Series.

Running the number that her dad used in his driving career, Jessica’s number 63 is also special because the numbers also represent her birthday (June 3). She will be behind the wheel of the McElwain Motors, W.A. Barr Construction, Sterling Lubricants, and Champion Oil entry.

With all three in competition at the same time, it will bring challenges and bring out their competitiveness. “We are all very competitive and we will all drive our hardest and try to have the best possible finishes throughout the season”, Jessica said. “It is also a great way to learn and listen to what they (Brandon and Dan) think that the track and car are doing and try to make the changes that I may not have thought of to make my car better,” she added. Her goals for the 2021 season include picking up qualifying heat wins and finishing in the top 10 each night. Jessica would like to thank her mom and dad, Chelsie, Brandon, Gary, Bruce, Bill, and Lexi for their support.

Look for Dan, Brandon, and Jessica to be competitive as they race against arguably the toughest field of Sportsman in the Northeast weekly, right here at “The Big R”.

CURRENT “TO-DATE” 2021 RACE OF CHAMPIONS FAMILY OF SERIES SCHEDULES

-2021 Tentative Scheduled Dates-

Elma, New York (January 9, 2021) – Included within and attached is the current Race of Champions Family of Series ”to-date” schedules.

The schedule gives fans an opportunity to visit premier racing facilities throughout the Northeast.

These dates and locations will bring together traditional events with some exciting additions to the promotional calendar, giving everyone a variety of exciting events throughout the 2021 season to showcase the Race of Champions brand of racing.

Race of Champions management is currently in negotiation with Spencer Speedway ownership in Williamson, N.Y., but two tentative dates that can be “penciled in” and will become firmed up, once an agreement is reached with Spencer Speedway ownership are Friday, July 30 and Friday, September 3 for the Race of Champions Modified Series.

The Race of Champions Modified Series will open the season with a return to beautiful Lehigh Valley region and the Mahoning Valley Speedway in Lehighton on Saturday April 24.

Chemung (N.Y.) Speedrome will host the Series on May 8 and the traditional NASCAR Cup Series Weekend at Watkins Glen on Saturday, August 7.

On July 3, the Series will “tune-up” for the 71st annual Race of Champions 250 with an Independence Day celebration event at Lake Erie Speedway in North East, Pa., which Lake Erie Speedway General Manager, A.J. Moore announced on Facebook on December 14, 2020. (www.facebook.com/LakeErieSpeedway/posts/10158953281439490?__tn__=-R)

The series also returns to the “high-banks” of Holland (N.Y.) International Speedway on Saturday, July 10. A date which was released on November 8, 2020 by track owner Ron Bennett in a story to Larry Ott, which was published in the Buffalo News (https://buffalonews.com/sports/motor-sports/holland-international-speedway-announces-plans-for-2021/article_4b4bccbc-21f4-11eb-adb0-b7f9be76ceb1.html)

The 71st annual Race of Champions 250 will take place on Sunday, September 26, 2021 as part of Presque Isle Downs & Casino Race of Champions Weekend at Lake Erie Speedway (September 24, 25 and 26), which continues to develop as a popular destination and location for the “Granddaddy” of all Modified races. Tickets for the Presque Isle Downs & Casino Race of Champions Weekend are available at www.lakeriespeedway.com.

Another Modified Series date on Saturday, August 14 has been added to the schedule with all details to be determined. The August 14 date will include the FOAR Score Hall-of-Fame Induction Ceremony, as the president of FOAR Score, Bob Woch stated, “without the ability to host the club’s traditional banquet, this is the next best alternative for us to continue this great Western New York racing tradition inducting deserving recipients into the Hall-of-Fame.”

The Race of Champions Sportsman Modified, Super Stocks and Four Cylinder Dash Series will play on the card on Saturday, June 5 at Lake Erie Speedway (www.facebook.com/LakeErieSpeedway/posts/10158953281439490?__tn__=-R).

Holland International Speedway will once again bring back the “George Decker” Memorial for the Sportsman Modified Series along with the Rick Wylie Classic on Saturday, August 28. The George Decker Memorial, which driver George Skora, III, has tabbed as one of the most prestigious Sportsman events in the region, will be 52-laps, along with the Late Model Series race being 48-laps in honor of Holland and Late Model legend Rick Wylie. Combined, this will bring back the traditional “Bud 100” concept at Holland, a popular tradition at the speedway for many years. (https://buffalonews.com/sports/motor-sports/holland-international-speedway-announces-plans-for-2021/article_4b4bccbc-21f4-11eb-adb0-b7f9be76ceb1.html)

A new speedway will join the Race of Champions Four Cylinder Dash Series. On Saturday, October 23, the Series will head to Painesville (Ohio) Speedway for the first time in what promoter, Randy Maggio, Jr., has tabbed as an “event purely focused on Compact and Four Cylinder racers.”

All division schedules are being worked on and prepared for release and these are not the final schedules. The dates included within are “up-to-date” and may be adjusted along with the now standard “Covid-19 pandemic” disclaimer in regard to the current state, region and community regulations that may dictate a schedule change. The 2021 Race of Champions Dirt 602 Sportsman Modified Series schedule will remain “on-hold” until the status of the United States and Canadian Border is updated and traditional crossing regulations resume.

The Race of Champions is a sanctioning body presenting Modified and Stock Car racing on asphalt and dirt surfaces throughout the Northeast, with events in New York, Pennsylvania and New Jersey with primary marketing partners Hoosier Racing Tire, VP Racing Fuels, Airport Collision, Rocket Performance, Waddell Communications, Pilat Graphic Design, TDH Refrigeration, Sherwood Racing Wheels, DirtTrackDigest.com and Speed51.com.

The 71st annual Race of Champions weekend will take place in 2021 at Lake Erie Speedway in North East, Pennsylvania and is the second longest consecutive auto-racing event in North America, second only to the Indianapolis 500.

STATEMENT IN REGARD TO THE STATUS AND SCHEDULING OF THE 32ND ANNUAL TRIBUTE TO TOMMY DRUAR / TONY JANKOWIAK MEMORIAL RACE

The Druar and Jankowiak family have made a decision as a family that is in regard to our family’s race (the 32nd Annual Tribute to Tommy Druar / Tony Jankowiak Memorial Race). The event is a special event for racers in our region and we would like to protect our family’s legacy that has been established over the last 32-years.

The race has developed and evolved over the past 31-seasons into a celebration of short track racing and a benefit to local track racing in Western New York and should be presented as such. Prior to what may be perceived as the scheduling of the event for 2021, there was one stipulation that a member of our family requested and it was simply not met.

Therefore, we have decided, after conversations amongst our family that the Race of Champions will present the race, wherever the event is scheduled.

Details in regard to scheduling of the race and event, will be announced shortly. If you are seeking more information in regard to this race, at this point, we ask that you respect the family’s decision and contact Race of Champions management.

Thank you for understanding of our position; Mickey Druar and Debbie Jankowiak.

Humberstone Speedway Introduces Engine Sealing Program

PORT COLBORNE, ONTARIO (January 5, 2021) New for 2021, Humberstone Speedway will be introducing an engine sealing program. The sealing program will enable teams to repair 602, 604 & W16 engines and support local part suppliers and engine builders.

“The rebuilding of these engine platforms will be Teched and Sealed by Humberstone to maintain the legality. It is important to maintain the integrity of the sport and for the future of our local racing”, comments track owner/promoter, Terry Vince. “The intent of this is to have the ability to repair your current 602, 604 crate, and W16 engines”, Vince continued.

602, 604, and W16 engines must be on an engine stand and have an oil pan, and one head removed, and timing cover installed. One intake valve and one exhaust valve must be removed to be weighed and to check the bowl area. Both exhaust and intake runners will be checked at this time as well as the compression ratio. Camshaft specs and cam timing will also be inspected.

All GM Parts must be used on 602 and 604 Crate engines excluding piston rings, rods, and main bearings.

Racers with W16 engines will be required to select engine components to be purchased through Wegner Automotive with inscription block, cylinder heads, and camshafts.

Humberstone Speedway will follow DIRTcar rules for Sportsman in 2021 but will NOT be DIRTcar Sanctioned.

Engine Sealing Fee is $300 includes 4 serial-numbered cable seals and documentation. There will be an $80.00 per hour charge for anything over an hour’s drive but will only charge travel one way to your shop. If two or more owners want an engine sealed, the cost to travel can be split between them. Engines can also be transported to CSR Engines for inspection.

Engines that do not conform to these parameters will not be sealed and be subject to a service charge for time lost. Documentation will be completed and serial numbers will be recorded.

New Year, New Vision for Humberstone Speedway in 2021

PORT COLBORNE, ONTARIO (January 1, 2021) As the calendar year switches to 2021, the Humberstone Speedway in Port Colborne, Ontario will resume operations in the new year with local business owner and engine builder Terry Vince behind the wheel as Vince is the new owner and track promoter of the historic facility.

Vince is the owner of Competition Speed Supply and CSR Engines (Competition Speed Racing Engines). He brings over 30 years of performance engine building experience within the motorsports industry. "I have a long history at Humberstone attending races in the mid-'70s with my father and from 1996 -2002,  Competition Speed Supply had a parts and fuel truck in pits to service racers in addition to the engine business, It's basically in my backyard".

Vince is currently restructuring the staff/management team throughout the winter months. “Expect to see some new faces and new doesn’t mean inexperienced”, Vince said. “I am fortunate to have the right people that share the vision I have for the speedway. Previous owner Al Wagner, Jack Winger from GR Environmental, Terry Huffman, Dave Walters, and Darren Peters from Peters Excavating have been a major asset to me since the takeover of speedway”, Vince continued.

Challenges to the upcoming season are still expected with Covid-19. “We are currently working on a Covid schedule featuring 12 races. If restrictions free up, we will add races as we continue throughout the season.

With an emphasis on getting fans back in the stands when it is safe to do so is very important. “I am committed to finishing the show by a reasonable time, family-fun entertainment, quality food in the concessions, and upgrades throughout the property”, Vince said. Upgraded washrooms and fixtures along with the renovation of the licensed second-floor bar and the newly constructed 350sq/ft patio will provide race fans with a new dynamic to the Humberstone Speedway experience. Several new marketing partners have already been established for 2021.

Long-standing events such as the All Canadian Championships est. 1959, the Pete Cosco Memorial, and the Eve of Destruction will continue. The All Canadian will feature a two-day race in 2021 featuring the 358 Modifieds, 360 Sprint Cars, Crate Sprints, and Vintage Cars plus the Humberstone weekly divisions. The Pete Cosco Memorial will feature the 358 Modifieds with increased laps and purses for all divisions. The Eve of Destruction will be bigger and better than ever with increased payoffs. The Dawn of Destruction will no longer take place

A partnership has been formed with Impact Motorsports that will bring four events planned for 2021 and will include a designated area in the infield to compete.

Racing on the historic Humberstone oval will be the Sportsman, Late Models, Thunderstocks, and the Mini Stocks/Trucks. The framework of the rules for the weekly classes are based off DIRTcar Northeast (Sportsman), RUSH (Late Models), and the Ontario Dirt Competition Committee (ODCC) for the Thunderstocks and Mini Stocks. The Late Model division will be getting some restructuring to increase car count. In addition to the 604 engines already in competition, open engines will be allowed to track cars from the west and from the States (once border restrictions are lifted). “Parity in the engine platforms for the Late Model division is important and will be adjusted to promote fair competition if necessary”, Vince stated. In efforts to use up equipment, the 4-cylinder Trucks will be competing with the Mini Stocks for the last season in ’21.  In addition, previous divisions 358 Modifieds will be on the card plus a host of 360 and Crate Sprint events. The Sprint divisions will utilize the ¼ mile push track to start and put heat in the engines to restore action and efficiency on race nights.

New for 2021, Humberstone Speedway will introduce its own Engine sealing program. This will enable teams to rebuild or repair 602, 604, and W16 engines. The integrity of the sport is important for the future of our local racing. Engines will be professionally teched prior to sealing with Humberstone seals for a fee to maintain legality. More information on the engine sealing program will be announced in an upcoming release.

“Being directly involved with motorsports, I understand the financial commitment to field a car and some purse increases and restructuring is being reviewed as well as the distribution of point funds”, Vince said.

Racemed will once again be the safety team at Humberstone. Racemed will provide Humberstone Speedway with a fully equipped safety truck and fast response team for each event.

To rebrand the speedway along with a massive cleanup to the grounds, several updates, and construction are being done around the facility to give the speedway a completely fresh new look. Several new illuminated Billboards facing Hwy 3 are in process for new marketing partners as well as Renovated VIP suites in the tower.

Updates have also been done to the racetrack and in the pit area as well. Those upgrades and updates include a track reconfiguration and enhanced racing surface, new LED lights and some poles for the racing surface, infield landscaping with seed and drainage system, installation of infield compound for Derby cars

Installation of infield guard rail system. The pit area will also see a new pit road entrance and exit. Other pit amenities are being addressed with washrooms and concessions. A parts store will be on-site with VP Racing Fuel and methanol for purchase.

With the emphasis on the race fan experience and commitment to the racer, Humberstone Speedway looks forward to the 2021 season.

The Sportsman and Street Stocks share the spotlight on August 13 with the Sean Letts Memorial for the DIRTcar Sportsman Series and the John Susice Memorial Street Stock race. This will be the second of two Western Region events for the DIRTcar Sportsman at the “Big R” in 2021.

On Saturday, August 14 the Monster Truck Racing League will take over Ransomville for a thrilling, family-friendly event. More details about this event will be released in the near future.

The Crate Late Models make a second appearance at the “Big R” on August 20 with the Northeast Late Model Alliance (NELMA). The NELMA event will feature Late Model teams from across New York and Ontario going head-to-head in their first visit to Ransomville. The Modifieds, Sportsman, Mini Stocks, and Novice Sportsman will also be in action with the Street Stocks having the night off.

Ransomville kicks off Labor Day weekend on September 3 with a Demolition Derby sponsored by Tripe T Auto Parts plus the final points night for the Modifieds, Sportsman, Novice Sportsman, and Street Stocks presented by HyTech Concrete.

The Outlawed 358 Modified Tour headlines the penultimate event of the season on September 10. This Modified series based in Pennsylvania will be joined by a Sportsman/Novice Sportsman Shootout, $500-to-win Street Stock special, and a points race for the Mini Stocks. A Ransomville tradition closes out the season on September 17 with the King of the Hill 75 for the Street Stocks. A Modified non-winners race, Sportsman/Novice Sportsman Shootout, and the final points race for the Mini Stocks will also help to put an exclamation point on 2021.
