For more information please contact Rob Smith  570-250-4125...   Lets spread the word and flood Canton with 4 wheel drive vehicles......More importantly show Lori our support.    THank you....

I probably should not say a word because what is done is done.  Heck I dont even come on here anymore lol   I just heard of DH2 perhaps closing??   Who Knows.  What I would like to say is that there was a earlier post bringing up the fact that Redline pulled the carpet.   Well not to go over all of this but it think I may be able to put this with out getting myself or anyone else in trouble.   The reason we could not tell anyone the actual reasons was because it was partially due to a few law suits ongoing.  Keep in mind while these suits were active the TRACK STILL RAN !! In fACT A COMPETITOR WAS THE ONE INVOLVED IN ONE OF THOSE AND WAS STILL ALLOWED TO COMPETE.. Alot of time and money spent to take care of those said things.   Coupled that with some other Weights and Measures issues out of the blue coupled that with ongoing fighting in the pits after everyone was warned coupled with very and I mean very little profit   enough was enough..  Now since this is happening where are all the 10 page posts on how crummy the management treats the drivers,  where are all the nasty phone calls to the owners and the rest of their families and the threats to them.......Makes me ILL that most of you run or have run there and everythign DH2 did was great but most of what I saw it was very different from what we brought to you all for a race VENUE

geez, how about the surprise to us mods when we went to draw numbers and were hit with a $50 entry fee!

did not know that  I think it was sonny that reposted a line that said no registration fee.........  But its things like this that people seem to be ok with redline did one thing wrong and it was the end of the world.

Congrats to Eddie Sites on the win,  Matt for a good second.  Great race overall guys   fun to watch...     However    I know its my choice to go or not to go to a track.........But when a track advertises a price and the PR guy backs it up saying they dont jack up the prices on special shows  then you get to the track and everything is way more than you had planned.......Good way to get people like me to go who normally wouldnt.  Lets see show started almost 45 min late..   Hot laps at 7 more closer to 7 45.     left at 10 30   small cars just took to the track for their feature   Why in the world would you run the mods last......No wonder DH@ runs till 1 am on a friday night....No urgency to keep the show moving.  I understand maybe on a  friday night  lagging a bit but on a midweek show should move quickly and def start on time......The only reason I am writing this at all is I talked my wife into going  all day.  She finally agreed then with the price increase that wasnt advertised and the starting late  and only watching 1 feature cause we had to leave (some folks do have things to do the next day)  As I am sure many ImCA and Mod drivers will agree.  Some coming 3 hrs away to make the race.............Thats all I have to say no track is perfect I realize,  and I am glad the local guys have a place to run.........But I for one will never go there again......Prob the biggest thing is the difference in price from a national advertisemnet in IMCA  on start time and  admission prices.   Thats just plain wrong.  If you want to throw big money at classes in hopes of getting cars than have a better plan to cover it than the fans and drivers paying more at the gate.  Should have listened to the wife and turned around at the gate........Another reason I am making a big deal over the gate price is the when we ran a track and the price increased one dollar literally one dollar  people went ballistic and it was even advertised.   DH2 can do whatever they wish to the fans and drivers and noone says a thing.....thats prob what upsets me the most....Weell im done with my rant bash at me if you wish  but ZI have said nothing that isnt true..... ...Good lu  ck to all the racers there wish you all the best........I wonder if IMCA knows about the false advertising...............Really good PR for them  ..also.............

Not jacking up the prices you say.  Funny thing I got to the track and it was considerably more to get in the stands and 10 dollars more to get in the pits.  For 3 classes really!!!!!!!!!!!    When you advertise a price that should be the price not decide later to   jack it up  which according to the tracks pr guy they dont do..........If I knew what it was going to cost to get in I would have never went.........thanks for the false advertising.........good technique........

never mind just saw the ad on the imca website...............

Is the admission for the stands the same as a reg friday night also.  And it start time 7 or 8.  Thanks...........

Racing Discussion / Why Not an IMCA!!!!!!!
« on: May 02, 2012, 11:26:26 AM »
Ok this has probably been beat to death but I was reading a post about mini rules etc.  stock car rules being diff. etc.   I am not a owner or driver but a huge fan of anything IMCA..............I was just out to California for some family things and my brother in law has a IMCA mod he owns and races there.    Went to Kings speedway in Hanford Ca.   Imcas mods  are common place.   Also the track is starting a IMCA sport mod class this year.  Near by is Bakersfield,  and Tulare Thunderdome......
I talked with several people out there  I know me talking alot its hard to believe right???  I asked several guys if they ever had or heard of Dirt Mods.  Guess what most didnt even know what they were,  some have saw pics,  but was not familiar.   Too bad the IMCA mods didnt get here first before the dirt mods.   Not bashing you mod guys if thats what you like thats fine but I think most tracks do not give the IMCas a fair shake.  Here its a support division  out west they are headliners.      Sonny brought up very good points in the woodhull post about cost.  Maybe the first start up cost maybe a little more than some but the long run advantage is way more.  Just in tires for starters........Somee tracks like Dunn Hill,  Clinton County and black rock giving them a start and  are paying them well and the car counts will come.   It just takes time......And if you have a IMCA  mod you can GO ANYWHERE and race rules are the same tech is simple..........This is just my opinion about the class,  have always been a huge fan.    I know that In NY dirt mods are king,  but someday cost will be a factor......again my opinion.   To all the tracks that have IMCAs keep them it will grow.  And some tracks need to give them more attention as a respectable class......thanks.

Not that it matters to me either way.  But what about the blame on NASCAR itself.  He had a broke swaybar for 3 to 5 laps at the end of the race driving very very slow.   What is the minumum speed was he under that and if so where was the black flag............He was staying in the top 35,  for his owners,  and sponsors.......Blame whoever you want but the car that stopped maybe should have been bf many laps before that......noone thinks of that!!!  JMO,........
