I have witnessed this too... but I haven't seen anything like what I saw until I was at a particular race in early July.
Not sure if it was a wife.. but she was clearly in support of a recognized southern tier street stock driver/RoC standout.
If anyone came near him or, god forbid, passed him out... as they went by the front stretch she would yell "f... you" over & over again ...then proceed to flip the person off for the next few laps. Kids of all ages were surrounding her, possibly even her kids. I felt so bad... they actually seemed somewhat embarrassed to be sitting there. I give her credit for having passion... but she failed on style points. This went on the whole race.
I can only imagine the home life.
