Racing Discussion / Re: Lancaster live today
« on: September 24, 2018, 04:03:18 PM »
Charlie thanks for the updates.  The US Open has lost its luster.

I don't know, looking at the car counts and the crowd I'd say the luster is still there. Maybe my view is biased.  Where you at Lancaster for any of the races this weekend?

Racing Discussion / Thank you to all who attended our opener
« on: May 14, 2018, 11:29:41 AM »
Hello,

This is a sincere thank you (NOT a Press Release)  ;) from the management and staff of Lancaster National Speedway to all who attended our thrice-delayed opener.

We know it was a tad chilly (60 and sunny when we started at 6:30 and 49 when we ended at 11 p.m.), we can't control the weather. But, we can control sending our appreciation to all 74 race teams who chose to race with us on Saturday. The Race of Champions Modifieds and Super Stocks were joined by our Street Stocks and 4 Cylinders for some great on-track action to kick off the 2018 season.

To the fans in the stands, we sincerely thank you for choosing to be part of the night and we look forward to seeing you again. As I have said many times, without the stars in the cars and fans in the stands - were are nothing but a paved oval in the middle of a field.

Sincerely,

Tim Packman, Staff, Management and Racers
Lancaster National Speedway

PS - This would have been a Press Release if I mentioned it's Ladies Night this Saturday (May 19) with $5 Front Gate Admission for the Ladies with the VP Racing Fuels Sportsman, Advance Auto Parts Street Stocks, Roaming Buffalo 4 Cylinders and an all-ladies only Amateur 4 Cylinder race to close out the night. But, I won't do that...gotta follow the rules ya know.

Racing Discussion / Re: Where are all you race fans?
« on: May 01, 2018, 02:41:44 PM »
Hello,

I have read through most of the replies here and just want to give MY opinion and thoughts.

To me, a press release is something that talks about a new partnership or big race night announcement. In there are quotes from the track and partner(s) involved. Having written one or two of them myself, they differ greatly from a race result story.

A race result story talks about who won, who raced, what happened finished where, who "irked" who off, who fought with who, who was DQ'd and why, who had a first win and all things racing related AND a quick snippet of what's coming up next week in one of the final paragraphs. From that, there is generally a discussion of what people thought of the race, results, disagreements, DQs etc.

If this section is a Racing Discussion area, then post the results here along with other topics readers start and let it eat. Put the little-remarked upon Press Releases in their own section .

Again, this is just my two cents. This site has a great value to racing in NYS and we appreciate their involvement.

Any and all questions regarding format, race procedures and ticketing need to be directed to the Red Bull Global Rally Cross. We are the host facility for this event.

Thanks

The track layout is 90% complete and will be unveiled when finalized. I can say this much, we will be utilizing the big track, part of infield and most of the inner oval, as well.

And, for those of you "torn between two lovers" the RBGRC will run during daylight hours on Sat and Sun, giving you (and me) time to make it to Lake Erie for that Saturday RoC Mod race.

As popular is it might sound to have a weekly Modified Series at a track, and I'll use Lancaster as the example, it wouldn't be financially sound for the facility or the teams. Running on a weekly basis would bring forth a financial commitment from LNS that would handcuff us from doing other things and bringing in other shows. It would also force the teams to spend on a weekly basis to remain competitive in hopes of making a good enough purse to bring them back to race next week. In turn, we would have to choose a higher Front Gate admission that could end up turning away your most loyal of fans.

What we have now with the RoC and Joe Skotnicki works great for both of us, the teams and the fans. Yes, we have more races than  any other track on the schedule. At one time, we called ourselves the Home of the Modifieds...and for good reason. The team and fan support made it worthwhile. Now, we work together to bring the RoC Mods in for a select number of races each year making for a special night of ground pounding action.

I and LNS have no desire to start or even look into running our own Modified Series. We'd much rather let Joe S. have all that fun, while we have our fun running four nights a week between the oval and dragstrip.

Look forward to seeing everyone at Lancaster this season

Just wanted to personally thank every fan, driver and crew member from our own Street Stocks and 4 Cylinder teams, to the ISMA and Can Am TQ Midgets who chose to come to Lancaster National Speedway on Saturday.

The two biggest requests we've had in the past few years are bring back the fresh cut fries (done) and can we get the ISMA Supermodifieds to come back? After what we all saw on Saturday, it is safe to say they were well received.

We know everyone has choices to make on how they spend their well-earned time and dime on the weekends. I want to personally thank you for choosing to make #YourLancaster your place to play last Saturday night.

Sincerely;

Tim Packman
Track President

So...should we bring them back again next year?  ;)

No lap timer  seemed to be confusion on laps starter goes from 10 to go to 2??

Our wireless lap counter was interfering with the ISMA lap timing system, so we turned it off to to make things easier for them.

After an award-winning 2016 at Lancaster National Speedway & Dragway, its time to get ready for the 2017 season. And, the first step to racing is the much-anticipated Racer Registration.

While teams have been working on their cars through the winter, the staff and management has been getting ready for the on-track action. We've already had our divisional meetings, released our schedules and updated the rules for the Drag and Stock Car programs.

On Friday, March 10 at Magruder's Pub on Broadway in Depew from 7 to 9 p.m. track Management will be in attendance to answer questions and make some announcements regarding the season.

Drivers can register for their respective class/divsional points and get their license, crew members can get their licenses and teams can renew their pit pads. All pits pads are assigned to whoever had them in 2016 until March 15. After that, any unreserved spots will be given to those already on the waiting list. All forms are currently on the website and pre-printed ones will be available upon arrival, as well.

FOAR Score will also be on hand for drivers and crew members to join their club. To be eligible for end-of-season points funds from FOAR Score, which totaled $12,000 last year alone from them in addition to the track points funds, a driver MUST be a registered member with them. Last year, several drivers did NOT join and their FOAR Score end-of-season points fund money went to their fellow drivers in that division.

Magruders, just one of our new partners, has a full bar and menu to take care of your thirst and hunger needs. Come on out, get registered for 2017 and have a little fun.
