Racing Discussion / Re: When Laminate Ain't Here
« on: October 17, 2014, 11:43:49 AM »
I haven't posted on here in ages because wading through the nonsense is unbearable most of the time but I must say UM brings down any credibility of most of these posts with his my way is the right way and all others are wrong attitude all the time. From a guy that has probably never owned or driven a racecar or run a series you sure do know how to run things quite well, I'm suprised your not tearing up Nascar with your wealth of knowledge. People like you make this site less and less relivant by the day.
Good day.
Maybe you can tell me again how stopping the support of the stock car program to get rid of Ralph is a bad thing like you have for the past 3+ years. Yea you really hit that nail on the head, Mr Catania seems do be doing one heck of a job considering you said nobody would pick up the pieces after Ralph. Yet another example of how your right about everything.

I'm sure this race was planned long before the open and even if it wasn't the man has done more for that racetrack in a month than the previous promoter did in 5 years. At least the general public knows the track is open and there's racing. Hopefully the weather holds out to put on a show!

Racing Discussion / Re: Drug testing at weekly race tracks

I think that Tony should have been tested. I don't think it makes the Police and the DA look very good for not having Tony tested.
If you read the entire official statement, Tony Stewart was tested that night while the police questioned him and no drugs or alcohol were found in his system. This whole thing boils down to a tragic accident nothing more, nothing less.

Highs in the 60's, no sun, and at minimum a 50% chance of rain until 8pm (most of the day 70%-80%) according to TWC, weatherbug, weather underground, noaa, and channel 2 would be more than a nuisance, that would not allow for much if any track drying. It does not look promising. Saturday looks like it will get in but Sunday is not likely.

And Sunday looks like a washout, is there a rain date so people can make plans (take off from work etc.). Bill has done a heck of a job so far and I look forward to going to what hopefully will be a new chapter to the track. We can hope for sun all we want but it doesn't look good.

Easy fix, Lancaster Speedway, presented by Elegant Builders.

If it weren't for the racers finally standing up for themselves they would have continued with the status quo. Ralph would have kept taking advantage of the racers and Reger would not have been as aware of how serious the issue was. How many times did myself and Danica say the only way out of this is to stop supporting Ralph? And how many times were we the outcasts for thinking that? How many people said if you don't like it don't go, he's the only option, without him we don't have a track?

Racing Discussion / Re: Racing and Beer
« on: August 06, 2014, 09:14:51 PM »
I think this is possibly being looked at backwards. Don't look at it or promote it as marketing craft beer to the Friday or Saturday racer, market it as a brew fest with a race on the side, try to entice fans that don't normally go to the racetrack to go for the brew fest. Put on a hell of a show as the side note to the beer fest and it's bound to stick to a few non regular fans and they will be back.

« on: June 10, 2014, 09:20:16 PM »
I'm sorry but if I was walled intentionally or even out of ignorance I would go after the guy too. Drivers from Tony Stewart to Sege Fidanza have done the same in the past, it's part of of the sport. If you can't deal with the consequences after you wreck someone then move to another sport. Just because daddy or whoever gives you a blank check it doesn't give you the right to drive like an *****.

That's when tracks worked together and didn't schedule big shows opposite another track.

I'll admit I was wrong and I am eating crow. I have never turned away to admit when I am wrong. Sounded like a good mod show, great job done by the drivers, teams, and fans for going. No thanks to Ralph the ROC had a good show. But honestly how many times in the past few years has this been the outcome? This race is the exception to the rule, however hopefully this continues for mod racing! From the car counts in the weekly divisions things still haven't changed from a facility and management standpoint.

Yay 600hp mods!! Hirshman wins, Hossfeld runner up again, the rest of the field barely passes for 70 laps and countless flat tires again because of the surface!! All that after we watch 5 sst's cruise around for their feature since the other 5 will be at Holland and we can also enjoy the other 10 car features. All while falling through boards in the grandstands and paying Ralph Wilson type prices for weeks old beer and hot dogs. Count me in!!
