Yesterday the racing community lost a staunch supporter of all types of racing who made his mark as a driver, a car owner, and just someone who gave it his all for the sport.
On a more personal note I lost my brother and I miss him dearly.  Oh how I'd once again like to see the #51 Saturday Night Special driving up through the pack, that was fun to watch.

R.I.P. Ed, I was so proud of you.

Jennerstown is a 1st class racetrack all around.  I'm glad I visited.

Lake Erie Speedway and modified racing need each other badly.  What a shame it is that facility sits dormant most of the time.

is what describes Laminate, Pud, and the rest that really think the asphalt modified racing in New York is truly genuine.

Tomorrow morning at 10:00 AM on Fox Sports 1, you will get to witness what an actual asphalt modified series race actually looks like on a short track. And see just how many are knowledgeable as I. The place was packed as always at Thompson for the NWMT (and remember, unlike what you look at here in New York, NO SPORTSMAN ALLOWED). Just real modified racing by a tour that has been around for three decades.

I have to warn you though, expect some real racing, and not constant wrecking that you are accustomed to (with less than half the field finishing). What I am trying to say, it may take a little concentration to follow along.

P.S. Too bad they don't televise the SK feature. Then you could see that modifieds and sportsman are actually two different classes

In the realm of athletes better able to run faster, jump higher, etc. then Jimmy Johnson probably wouldn't be considered a great athlete.
Imagine Donovan McNabb in the #48 and Jimmy Johnson as the Philadelphia Eagles QB and then imagine some more on who would do better?

I say they both would be terrible yet McNabb who's a better traditional athlete would suck the most.
Talledega at balls to the walls he would be in the wall and when driving in his comfort zone he'd be lapped every 5 laps.

And Jimmy Johnson like McNabb could throw footballs at receivers feet. :D
