Racing Discussion / Re: Madhouse

Those of you that have never been to Bowman Gray Stadium really shouldn't speak of what you don't know. The fans have been allowed to have rivalries since the place has opened. Look at an NFL game for example. How many signs do you see? Same with BG. How many shirts with their favorite team do you see? Same with BG, if you go in the pits you will see the drivers displaying their shirts and wares for sale. Hell we don't even have a photo booth at the tracks here anymore. Only one small trailer to sell goods. BG fans know personally and love their favorite teams. There is no catch fence on the front or backstretch. It makes for an exciting, close as you can get, fan experience. Definitely verbal and physical gestures come from all fans. That's the excitement of it. It's Jimmy vs Tony with a little Noe on steroids.  Go for your yourselves, you won't be disappointed.

Throw them a bone? The kid was high....He got out of his car and walked into traffic. He owes them nothing.

Racing Discussion / Re: NASCAR & Chemung

Chemung will continue to struggle as long as the promoter RH is playing puppeteer. He has no actual racing (in car) experience. He makes all the calls from the tower instead of the trusting the actual track officials and allowing them to do their job. He has only a few REAL officials. Not sure who the turn 3 flagger is but is is nothing more than a spectator with a uniform on. I have watched all season and he just watches the wrecks and rarely throws the yellow in time if he throws it at all. Please get him some training before he kills a driver. They rely on these officials for their safety. The last race should have been a green, white checker but since the puppeteer doesn't know this, he let it go three times and enraged the crowd and drivers. Just pathetic. Hand over your officials and tech to someone who know what they are doing and have a fair season for once.

If you don't like this site just start your own race discussion facebook page and see how long it goes before it is locked as well.

So Sprintdaddy.... A few spots up you "claim"  "spots are filling up fast".
Harris9cat simply asked you to list the cars that will be at the car show.
You claim it is too soon. Well if spots are filling up fast you must already have quiet a list.
Just because NOBODY has ever put out a list of attendees doesn't mean you can't be the first.

There needs to be an educational seminar that the fans pay good money for that covers all the car rules, concession stand regulations, ambulance and ems regulations and training, Fire training and regulations, corner worker training, track signals, head flagger qualifications, pit steward, scorer, tow truck service, safety equipment required, announcer, track manager, owner, insurance regulations, sponsor regulations, NASCAR regulations, financial requirements, payouts, ticket booth personnel, gate personnel, requirements to open facility each week, schedule of events, facility clean up after race.....I'm sure I missed a few things. This would be a 2 day 16 hour course. I know first hand all the above. It is a 7 day a week process. Those of you with opinions should ask those with answers. This is a business not a hobby for the owners.

Maybe we should charge a fee and have a shadow program. Maybe that would slow the BS that is thrown around so freely on this site.

I think that the tracks that will or have implemented the "Do not get out of your car rule" should donate the fine money to the Spaulding Foundation for Injured Drivers.
The money goes to a GREAT cause and helps a lot of drivers each season.

I agree with you Ray 100%. Unless you fans can hear the radio transmissions,  the discussions with officials and the parties involved in the pits and watch the video again.... than stop bitching about what you think you saw and heard. When track officials make a decision like this there is a lot more involved than what one person saw in the stands. Yes... I am speaking from experience as a track employee for 31 years.
