« on: April 30, 2013, 07:10:41 PM »
Dunn Hill 2 Forced to Close
After 4 long seasons of racing on the hill with our deepest regrets we have made a BUSINESS DECISION to close the track for the remainder of the 2013 racing season. We tried to keep the track open this season but we're left with no other decision but to close the doors for the rest of the season. We would like to thank all of the racing fans who came out to support the track over the last 4 seasons. We also would like to thank all of the drivers and teams that we have met and also supported the track. We really apologize to all of you that have tried to make the track work. You can look at old videos and pictures from when we took the track over till now it's a whole different place. We have spent endless time and money at the track to make it an enjoyable place for fans and drivers alike but we we're forced to make a BUSINESS DECISION and the choice was To take this season off. Again we deeply wanted to be open this season but just can't do it this year. All pit space money will be refunded to all drivers. Please e mail is with your names and addresses we will send all of you your money back. Anyone who is interested in running the track please call the office at 5707358544 to discuss arrangements. We wish all drivers the best of luck this racing season at any track you will now call home.
SINCERELY.
MARK SPENCER SR.

Racing Discussion / Re: Dunnhill2 Speedway Small Car Saturday?
« on: February 27, 2013, 06:50:49 PM »
Yes we are running the SMALL CAR SATURDAY portion of racing at the track.  The new divisions and rules are now posted on the tracks website @ www.dunnhill2speedway.com.  We are going to split up the karts and micros/slingers this year.  The kart divisions will run first this year.  At the completion of the Karts the micros and Slingers will then have a whole portion just for those cars.  With last year being our first year of the kart track being built, whanx to the help of S & A construction, we have decided to prep 1 track at a time.  End result is the both tracks will be in better condition for all divisions, which leads to better races and happy racers.  I will have the schedule on the site over the weekend.  The first Kart practice is Saturday April 13 and Opening day will be Saturday April 20.  Hope I gave you any info that you have needed.  Hope to see you on the hill this year.

We are hoping to put down some new clay again this year.  The track did have some rocks this past season but got progressively better throughout the season.  When we reconfigured the track last year, there was tons of fill added to the track to level it out.  When the new clay was trucked in it was mixed with the fill so that it would bond and not pull up and cause ruts.  The fill had rocks in it and eventually made it to the surface.  This preseason we will be working on the track early to avoid the rocks becoming a problem this year.  As far as you never being at the track, I look forward to you racing on our track.  You can ask the guys who told you the horror stories about the rock how tacky and dust free the place is.  At some other dirt tracks I have been to,  you wouldn't be able to see any rocks even if they were the size of basketballs due to the amount of dust the track puts off.  For the mostpart the track got allot better midway through the season till the end.  So we are looking forward to this season starting off on a better note.  Hope to see you there this season.

The small Car Saturday program will DEFINITLEY be back for another year of racing.  We are going over all of the procedural rules and tech rules that we have adopted fro WVMP and making them our own.  We will be most likely using WKA rules for all kart divisions this year.  Nothing is set in stone but talks have been going on for some time now.  That will put an end to all stock appearing clone motors.  Like I said nothing is final but I am pretty sure that's whats going to happen.  RESERVED PIT SPOTS for both Friday and Saturday will be available very soon.  Then new site is up with lots of changes still to be made.  Keep you posted.

Since we are making an entire new website we had to find out the password so the new web company(Tyler Jett Motorsports Media) needed to find out the old password.  The password was never needed cause we never changed domains.  Brock Moore made the first website for us back in 2008, needless to say he forgot the password.  We had to go through yahoo and find out the password, Which if you ever had to do is not so easy.  Not Brock's fault it was 5 years ago.  The new site SHOULD be up over the weekend.  I can tell you all this: the street stock and factory stock rules are the same as last year.  The IMCA rules are as per IMCA.  The mini stock rules have only been changed a little by allowing a solid head,  and the use of aftermarket down force noses.  The FWD are allowed to run and style header pipe this year.  Off the top of my head with no rules in front of me those are the changes.  We are going to be running every Friday night from April 12Th till at least Aug 30 for the regular point season.  With at least one open practice the Saturday before opening day, maybe two depending on the weather.  As far as special shows Sunday June 9Th we are having the FIRST ANNAUL FRANK SPENCER MEMORIAL ROC STREET STOCK TOUR RACE, along with an IMCA EMPIRE SERIES TOUR RACE and a Stage 1 mod tour race.  I'm very sorry about the website.  Sorry for any inconvenience it has caused.  Just stay posted.....  This should be a great year for all of us on the hill.

What would you like to know?  The rules will be posted this weekend on the new website and i can give you a  definite start date of April 12th as the first race date with an open practice the weekend before on Saturday the 6th for the big cars.  The schedule will also be completed this weekend and posted on the new site. The rules for the factory stocks, street stocks and IMCA mods will be the same.  We have tweaked the mini stock and fwd rules a little bit to give a little more freedom in those divisions.  The new site should be up and running over the weekend.  I WILL KEEP YOU POSTED!!!!

Racing Discussion / Re: IMCA's

This is Mike from Dunn Hill 2.  You can give me a call @5707358544 during the day on weekdays.  We will do whatever you guys need to help support the IMCA mod division.  For the past two years we have gone to the AARN Motorsports show in Oaks PA to promote the track and have been the only track that has had an IMCA mod on display in the entire building.  The IMCAs are the headline division at our track.  Depending on how wet the track is on a given night, we basically run them where we think the track will be the best.  Being our headline division on Friday Nights, we have upped the pay and spread the money out through the top ten a little more.  We have gone as far as, and will continue to give our top finishing driver who chooses to go to Super Nationals in Boone "THE BOONE BONUS" which is a $2,000 dollar cash bonus to help out with expenses on the trip to Iowa.  Like I said we will help out in any way possible to help promote and support the division.
