A cool trick is, at least on Android, if you click those 3 dots in the upper right hand corner and click "add to home screen", it's basically an app.  One click to get to raceny.

Pretty standard practice in this neck of the woods is if you are involved in a caution you go to the rear.  On the first lap, if that was the reason for the caution, he'd go to the rear along with whoever dumped him.

The biggest issue that I have seen is tracks treating their lower classes like crap.  Always running last means best chance of getting cerfewed out, rained out, etc.  They also seem not to care about making calls, tech, etc.  It just doesn't matter to them because we are "just 4 cylinders".  They fail to realize that we pay the same to get in to the pits as the modified guys, yet we get paid the same to win as modified green money.   A win for us means just as much as every class.  I have been running in my class for 5 seasons and this will be my 15th year overall in 2016.  In that amount of time, only once have a felt like the promoter was glad to have us.  Sure, we get the generic "Thanks for coming" at every drivers meeting, but last fall I ran an open show at five mile point and when we pulled on the track, Mr Harpell got on our one way radio and said something along the lines of "Thanks for coming guys! The track is yours, put on a good show and have fun."  If my class was on the regular schedule there, I would run there in a heartbeat.

We also got welcomed with open arms at glen ridge and skyline, and were treated well, but it seems if we have a weekly home somewhere, then we are nothing more than numbers.

Track promoters need to realize that the entry level classes will add cars to the higher classes over time as some of the drivers move up.  Treat them well, you will have more cars.  More cars = more fans.

He issued death threats to an individual. He made racist comments about another individual, and he's been banned from most of the tracks that are listed for a while.

Pretty sure he's also banned from this forum and the other for his shenanigans, also.

hellloooooooooooooooooo sunshine!!!! ;D :) :) ;D ;D :D :D :D ;D ;D ;D

I guess we have found the one place he hasn't been banned from.

Racing Discussion / Re: What Would You Build If You Had These Rules?

This is why we put together the 4 cylinder truck class in the southern tier.  When I got priced out of the street stocks, I wanted to continue racing.  The front wheel drive class isn't my cup of tea.  No disrespect intended, but I have always raced rear wheel drive classes, and had no desire to change that.  The only other rear wheel drive class option locally was the pure/factory stocks, and they too are evolving the same way the street stocks did.  We decided to put together a truck class.  First option was full sized v8's.  Biggest issue is they are long and wide, making trailering more difficult, as well as being heavy, and combine that with relatively stock motors, they are slow.  So then we looked at compact trucks.  I called tracks that run them all over the country to get an idea on what rules work and what dont.  The 3 options we looked at were v6's, v6's and 4 cylinders.  With the bigger engines, more weight is needed to hook them up, thus slowing them down.  If we kept them stock, the 3 different sized engines are all about equal.  The 4 cylinder engines are the cheapest to refresh, and since they came in these trucks, it's the cheapest way to go truck racing.

If there were no danger, racing wouldn't be nearly as popular as it is.

Buchek told me he licked every one of them as soon as they got there, kind of to mark his territory.  Also heard rumor that they all had a joe buchek sized bite missing from them all.  Can't confirm that rumor though.

I think they may as well allow the tube chassis cars.  Maybe it would be enough to help the car counts.

Just a thought but what about a V8 truck class based upon stock rules.

When we were first putting the truck class together, this was the first route i looked at.  First thought was full sized trucks, but they are so heavy that they would be painfully slow.  The next thought was v8s in small trucks (s10s, rangers, etc) but the problem is with the additional front end weight, you have to add a ton of rear weight to get them to hook up, and that slows them down.  Italso doubles the cost of building one because not only do you need to buy a truck, you need to buy and rebuild an engine.   Next thought was v6s.  The problem with the v6s is that the 4.3 liter chevy motor is the dominant setup.  We wanted diversity. They also arent any faster than the 4 cylinders, for the same reason the v8s arent.  With the 4 cylinder option, any make and model can win.  We have had early s10s win, late s10s, early rangers, late rangers, toyota, mazda, and even dodge dakota has won.

That tie looked much closer than this tie.

If imca guys would rather race at the mountain than the sanctioned tracks, than it must appeal more to them for some reason.   Kudos to Thunder for giving these guys the night off.

Makes the track look desperate. If it's such a wonderful deal you wouldn't need to brag about it. What happened to Super Promoter? No mention of him at all anymore. Just another track he came in and promised the world and took tge money and ran? Seems to be a trend lately.

Brett is there every Saturday night.  Weekly promotion is a bunch different than the specials that he is used to.  He and Karl are both working their asses off, and every week, there are improvements.  The racing is getting better every week, as well as the dust situation.  I think these are both due to the clay (yes, its real clay) getting worked in and settled nicely.

I can tell you that there is a truck winning a bunch of races there that has 7 races on a set of tires, and they still have the nubs.
