Some points. Last time I went to DH2 with the sport mod, the track was horrible. Track had a horrible surface, and when the brought the grader out, they never cut the 2 foot burm down. They just tried to fill the hole on the bottom, which completely locked down the surface. We finish in the top 5 and had over 600 in repairs without piling the car up (wheel bearings, torsion bars, all the urethane bushings, etc.)   A car caught fire, and it took the fire crew at least 3 minutes to get to the car to extinguish. Fire fighters, more like foundation savers!!!! After that, I really dont feel safe putting my driver out there. I have heard more bad than good about the place, and I want my car in 1 piece for the ROC Wed at Utica Rome. I can bring the crate out, but I would go to Thunder Sun with the crate as I feel that running the crate against the opens is like taking a knife to a gun fight. After the mod teams got blind sided by the entry fee of $50 in June, it put a bad taste in my mouth. Charge $50 for a $1500 to win mod race.....I only paid $20 for 10K to win at the clash at the can. Hell, I just paid $75 to enter the Outlaw 200 and I will get $1000 to start. No brainer there. DH2 screwed the mod teams, and it will now trickle down to the sportsman teams. Like I said, I will go to Thunder Mt. I know what I will be in for, and there won't be any favortism as I hear DH2 is crooked as hell....kinda like a go kart track that no longer exists!!!

The 3 inch rule needs to be enforced everywhere. I know in our standard BRP car Jeff has about 3 and a half inches to the top of the cage. On our tall cage cars we had to put a booster under thw seat just so he can see out of the car. With an inch and a half booster, we have 5 inches of clearance. More head room is sometimes hard to get, but possible. Move the seat around, get a seat with more layback like 20 degrees instead of 10. I have found that 10 degrees of layback will give you a little better than an inch.....and every inch counts. We as tracks need to get together and come up with a solution that is safe and wont cost everyone an arm and a leg.

Ok, just to clear things up.....

Immediately following the sportsman race, the 6N of Nick Nye presented track officials with the $400 and stated that he wanted the car of Welty checked for legality of his motor. The Welty car was taken into a garage on track property, a representative from each team present, and a teardown was conducted on the Welty car. During the check of the Welty car, it was found that the intake manifold did NOT have factory GM seals on it. Upon further inspection, we had also found that the front and rear of the intake manifold did not have a gasket, but silicone sealing it both front and rear.

With these findings, a meeting was then conducted with myself, Dick Stark, and Mr. Welty. There were 2 areas of concern in the findings that were addressed.
A) The GM crate motor did not have factory seals in place on the intake manifold.
B) The intake manifold was sealed back together using silicone on both the front and rear in place of gaskets.

The GM crate motor is supposed to remain unaltered in the condition that it came in from the factory. Could the engine have been repaired at some point? Mr. Welty stated the he had purchased the engine used, and to his knowledge it had never been repaired. Without the proper documentation from an authorized GM service center, I had no choice but to deem the engine illegal. I did give Mr. Welty the option to go until Mon or Tues if he needed to provide documentation to me. He did decline that option and loaded the car and left the speedway.

Dick will be taking care of the sportsman tech. I will be there to tech both the super stocks and slingshots. I find it as a conflict of interest and WILL NOT take any part in tech for sportsman with Jeff racing, this is why you do not see him on Fri nights, I will not let him race there weekly due to the fact I am a track employee. In my eyes, what's fair is fair and what's right is only right. Should be a great show and I will see you all Tues night.

Jeff Crambo has confirmed will be there with the 77 sportsman entry.

Hearn and Manmiller both DQ'd. Light at the scales. Both said they will not go to Lincoln tonight. Making the PA Small Blocks weigh 2500 killed this race. ROC screwed up big time.

All small blocks only needed to weigh 2300. If you had sb2 heads or dome pistons would be the only circumstances that you need to take 2500. Roc did not kill this show, the economy did. It was a south region race, and they did not even get a lot of grandview/new Egypt/bport/big diamond cars.

Techman....get the facts straight before making a false accusation against roc. Go to www.rocdirt.com and look at the rules sheet. Don't try to baffle everyone with bs and make the series look bad.

Why wasn't my mod there? It was very hard to race on a Tues night and I felt without a big block we wouldn't even have a shot even with a 200 lb weight break as the roadrunners were the support class. The track was gonna stay bitey all night, and the place is huge, big block track.

I have 2 questions. First, a 28.5x11 is an acceptable lr tire at all tracks anymore. Is it going to be allowed on wed? Secondly, 24 gal max capacity for the fuel cell. Most guys running alky are equipped with a 32 gal fuel cell, which again is legal only if running alky. Just want to clarify as I'm sure that there won't be tires at the track for sale.
