Racing Discussion / Re: NASCAR Mod Tours Combining

I would guess that the promoter of the PASS tour in the south is loving this.  I would like to see Martinsville and Richmond return to the tour as a result of the combination.

I just heard that track management has moved the starting time for Saturday back to 7:00 to try and keep the fans more comfortable and the track racier. The pits will now open at 12:30 and the grandstand will open at 5:00.

This Saturday is the Bob "Heavy" Scherer memorial twin 50s for the modifieds at Mahoning Valley Speedway.  Pit gates open at 11:30 and the grandstand opens at 4:00.  The winner of the second 50 lapper will be a guaranteed starter in this year's Race of Champions 250 at Oswego.  I hope you'll be there with me.

Mario was a great guy.  I will miss talking with him in the pits at Thompson.  We didn't really know each other well but he always had a minute to chat and that minute often turned into 30 minutes.

I wonder how an appeal of chemical analysis works?  It's not like the flim-flam the MRS pulled a couple of years ago saying samples were going to be tested and in fact were not. Looks like DIRTcar has the evidence on them according to the report.

Maybe it works like suspensions in other sports....they get cut in half just for asking nicely.  LOL

Aaron Creed's coverage of the northeast mods and the pro cup division has been great for the fans and the sport.  He is an excellent writer and works very hard for the coverage he gets.  Thanks Aaron.

Looking forward to getting back to Shangri-La.  The best part is I'm bringing my dad who's never been there.  Thanks to everyone who is putting on this show.

I would have been very cold at MVS.  Now I'll just be very cold at Thompson instead.

Hope to see you on the 23rd.

Well 8 more days until we see for ourselves.  I will be at MVS to see what happens next week and you should all be there too.  As they say...the proof of the pudding...

I just talked to Joe and he said he talked to tim santee. The promoter of mvs he told me that the drivers. WILL BE PAID THAT NIGHT AFTER THE RACE. They will not have to wait to be paid. The first roc race Is a go now let's support the series and welcome the new owner to are MODIFIED COMMUNITY

The Santee family has operated MVS with integrity.  Drivers have always been paid on time (no I'm not a driver but many of my friends are) and I'm sure that the ROC show will be no exception.

Let's put an end to this pointless debate and get out there and support our short track promoters, track crews, drivers and pit crews.  Folks we are running out of short tracks and we absolutely need to support them and not constantly complain.

See you at MVS on April 9th.

Racing Discussion / Re: Lancaster ROC (Well done!)
« on: August 17, 2015, 08:56:05 AM »
I brought my dad to Lancaster Saturday night and we had a great time.  We decided to buy pit passes so I could introduce him to some of my friends.  Everyone was very welcoming and we had a good time chatting with Bobby Holmes, Chris Risdale and Paul Hartwig.  We watched the first round of practice from the pits and then moved over to the grandstand.  The racing was excellent with a thrilling finish, the crowd was huge and the concessions were good and reasonably priced.  I'm also impressed by the improvements made to the track and the grandstand.

I want to thank everyone Jeff and Dave for saving seats for dad and me.  Also thanks to the drivers, crews, track crew and everyone else involved for a great father and son evening.
