Last night at Raceway5 they teched the top 5 in the mod class. The 71 the 4, 47, 11n and P38. Three open engines and two crates.
They tubed all of them. I didn't asks what they did to the open engines but, He ck carbs, valve springs, BOLTS, and gears. Every thing went smooth no arguing Greg and John were poking fun at each other about the race.
The racing was good had a few yellow flags but I didn't see any body taking anyone out. Greg and and John Had a good race for the lead, The four could get next to him but John could pull him off the turns. No banging or rubbing although Martin did give John a few raps in the rear bumper late in the race.
Some of you might know that we started racing here at the start of the year. But Ransomville is our home track and to race two nights a week and the track conditions where pretty rough. After blowing an engine and replacing bent and broken shocks. I had to make a choice as to were we were going to race. Jim and his crew has changed the way they been working the track and it was smoother then the past and it was fast.
As fare as the deal with Smith and tech. It could have been handled differently, but it is what it is. Things got out of hand and then got out of control THATS WHAT I THINK.
Greg and I have been racing for 26 years! WOW that makes me old. We have learned over the years
1. NEVER ***** off the tow truck drivers
2. Don't offer anything more than the tech guy asks for
3. Always TRY to be nice to the promoter once a call is made you can't redo the race.
Best thing to do is Pull your pants up take what you get and go home and kick the dog!
Do I bitch? Sure I do, most of the time we do it in the trailer. I throw things and kick things Greg has been know'en to pitch his helmet bust chairs and pout. We regroupe and try come to come back with something better the next race.
I would like to thank ALL of are sponsers this year for all the help. With out them we could not do our thing.
