I just have to VENT !!
Last night I was in the stands at my local track and witnessed an over the top family member of a driver. After an on track accident this lady was screaming at the top of her lungs that the driver that caused the spin was a " Dirty Driver " !! This was obviously meant to be heard by the family and friends of said driver, who were sitting in the next section. Her little rant showed NO CLASS and made the whole group she was representing look bad. Lady did you ever consider that the driver in question is new to the class this year and is prone to mistakes due to the learning curve. I have seen your veteran driver make mistakes worse than what happened and no one said "boo" about that !! Did you ever consider that at those speeds with cars so close that sh_t just happens and usually very fast !! I doubt those things ever crossed your mind. There is only one solution to that !! Go get a car and find out for yourself !!!! Then I can yell at your supporters on what a dirty driver you are !!!!

Grandstand drivers always know how to drive better.I also think they get more ticked off then the drivers.

Sometimes the women in the stands make bigger fools of themselves than the drivers.
I don`t think they realize how embarrassing they are being, or else don`t care.

dirttrackrocker...thanks, your post made me laugh. Don't worry too much about "grandstand drama". be thankfull there are people IN THE GRANDSTANDS. I get a kick out of people watching,,, I'll be this "lady" gets crazy every week at the races. As long as everybody is having fun (no fighting) that's what racing is all about (?).

When I was about 5 years old we sat near a drivers wife at Dundee raceway who put on an interesting display. Her husband who was a very nice guy got taken out of the race and the track did nothing to the other driver who continued on in the lead. The lady who was easily a 300 pounder let go with a screaming tirade of words I as a five year old had never ever heard! (increased my vocabulary on the spot). Then she proceeded to climb out of the grandstand and cross the warning track to the edge of the speedway where she threw rocks at the offending driver everytime he came around! Finally security came and escourted her out. Great Fun And A Huge Education to A Young Boy!

I think I remember that night.... I also remember a Late Model driver getting suspended for a week or 2 for getting out of his car after he got stuffed into the turn one wall and throwing rocks at the guy who stuffed him.

I was reminded tonight that I must have a "Please sit right in front of me even if the grandstands are empty" sign right on my forehead! And I also got the "I must stand for the entire show" guy off to my lower left too. No screamers tonight though! ;D

Yea Falcon check out raceway5 thread, they also use the black flag. Great show tonite. If you go by the 50/50 for crowd size, it was $940.. If you come down, I'm up top in turn 4. The one legged guy w/Jegs hat.

fans ( short for fanatic) i say aslong as there is no physical contact let them say what they want , it happens in every sport . thats why we love this country for our freedom to say just about anything you can think of . if thats how they get stress releif so be it. without fans where would our sport be.

I understand fans having a passion for the sport. The cheering and jeering comes with it, but these fans have to realize this is a family environment. "Without the fans, where would our sport be?" I agree, but when you have a bunch of obnoxious fans, that tends to drive away several of the others. I know a team at my local track that has a couple of well respected drivers, but this drivers family, one woman in particular does nothing but yell and scream profanities, accusations of cheating whenever a certain other driver wins. The other fans see this, and in return they have turned to disliking this woman's drivers. I feel bad for the drivers because i have a lot of respect for them, but this "fan" of theirs is tainting the public opinion of them.

I have witnessed this too... but I haven't seen anything like what I saw until I was at a particular race in early July.
Not sure if it was a wife.. but she was clearly in support of a recognized southern tier street stock driver/RoC standout.
If anyone came near him or, god forbid, passed him out... as they went by the front stretch she would yell "f... you" over & over again ...then proceed to flip the person off for the next few laps. Kids of all ages were surrounding her, possibly even her kids. I felt so bad... they actually seemed somewhat embarrassed to be sitting there. I give her credit for having passion... but she failed on style points. This went on the whole race.
I can only imagine the home life.

The first time we went to Bowman Gray, there was a woman in the front row who stood up and flipped off Junior Miller with both hands every time he came by. But that's normal for the Stadium. Plus, she was getting some good exercise. lol

Ransomville has one of them. They call her the "MAD HAIRDRESSER" comes apart if her husbend gets tagged or passed by anyone. Everyone that wins cheats.
She has been kicked out of the stands and the pits yrs. past.
Her kid runs go-karts samo-samo.
Some times its funny, sometimes she gets down right nasty.

My friend told me he is going this week for the purpose of recording her so he has more you tube mataerial. Yup, even my friends can be jerks. I told him not to sit near me. ( although I thought the idea was funny )
