Title: Oswego Speedway Website & News
Post by: SuperModFan923 on April 24, 2012, 02:59:30 PM
www.oswegospeedway.com (http://www.oswegospeedway.com)

The Oswego Speedway website looks great and seems eaiser to navagate around. They have alot of great articles to read on whats going on for the upcomming 2012 season.

Great to see the return of the NEMA series back and the addition of the Extreme Sprint Series. I keep hearing great things about these ashpalt ground ponders!! Also noticed Extreme started their own Supermodified series for the midwest states!!

Nice to see Jessica Zemken is going to be in the lineup for Opening Day as well as Davey Hamilton.

Also noticed Jarett Andretti is going to be doing a test session at the speedway with a super.

Hopefully it can lead to a great Classic Weekend with some BIG names in the field?!?!?!?!

Can't wait to take a few trips out to the Steel Palace this year!!

Right on, man.  Still the King of speedways in my book and I've been to a lot of them.  When you have an Oswego near your own backyard, the racing gods have smiled on you indeed.  Thankful the Torrese's are continuing their incredible work.  Hoping to get there as often as possible this year.

My favorite paved track by far. Great to see Oswego back on the map with the Torrese's at the helm. Hopefully will be able to make it to a few shows this year.

While my favorite seat is up high on the backstretch, the construction of the frontstretch grandstands was ingenius.  With the steel frames connected to the retaining wall, a car out of shape into the wall shakes the whole place.  Talk about getting involved in the action!

your right!! Unfortunately I've seen cars on their roofs on both sides of the track!! also you can go wrong with any of the seats in the back grandstand, but its also an experience to sit all the way at the top of the front grandstand at the start finish line as well!!!!   ;D

Since the first time I visited, Oswego has been one of my favorite tracks.  Hopefully I can get back there this year, it has been to long since my last visit.

I also wanted to add a few things I find impressive about Oswego recently.

-Many of their drivers are on Twitter, and someone at the Oswego office is doing a great job retweeting them and getting a ton of exposure.

-They also seem to have "Oswego Speedway Shop Talk" videos on their site.  It looks to be like some sort of weekly series.  This is a great way for the driver to gain exposure, and plenty of great advertising for the track.

-I notice a ton of local sponsors for everything from regular race night sponsorship's, special event sponsorship's, and just track sponsorship's.  Someone in their marketing department is doing a great job; it is very rare to see so many sponsors anywhere in racing now.

-Their admission prices (GA and Pit) are easily accessible on the site, unlike some tracks who try to hide that.

Oswego is using the internet to their advantage, and doing a great job of it.  Things like these make me want to get to the track as soon as possible!

the one doing the retweeting for the speedway is Danny Kapucinski who used to work for DIRT but now is PR for Oswego

I went last year once and was so impressed I have planned two more visits this year. The night the Extreme Sprints are there and the Saturday of ROC weekend in July.

This the 2nd year under new ownership and what they have done is remarkable. They braught the supers back to a rage of top notch racing.I went a few times last year but this season it will be many more times. They are promoating the track...not just open the doors and hope for the best...they are bringing back people that have not been there in years and alot of these people live in Oswego. The word is out and the city is abuzz with life again at Oswego Speedway

You might try a hotel in Fulton or someplace.  Its not that far from the track, and a hotel will probably be cheaper there than right in town.

I stay at the Best Western in Brewerton right by the thruway. It's about 65.00 a night. 35 minutes from the track.
