I do. Back then it was all about the drivers and teams.
-
Yeah. tell me about it. I remember the first time the champion got a million dollars. That was a BIG deal. Now it takes 10 million to field a start and park team. If people would get their lazy asses off thge couch and go to a local short track they would realize what racing is all about.......... Its worse thsn watching the Oscars... Who's wearing what?? Give me a Fu**in break...

;D
-
I watched about 5 minites and I thought it Sucked ;D ;D
-
There was a banquet last night??
-
I'm sorry. This is all my fault. I finally get "SPEEDTV" and a satellite dish and they put out this trash.
The show would have been good on video and sent to the sponsors.
Put the same crew in a fire hall, forbid cameras, and have free beer. I'd pay to go to that party.
-
...i couldnt talk myself into it :o LOL ~ wanted to see Mr Onion get his though...i did miss that part ~ Bummer
-
Actually the abbreviated Truck/Nationwide part was ok, because it was "entertainment"-free. Todd's speech was excellent. From 9 on it was....well.....I had a nice nap.
-
it's like spending a week with an insurance salesman!
-
My wife and I made it through about 20 min's of that drivel. She finally begged me to change the channel.
I was really surprised at how weak the entertainment was. All the friggin money nascar has, that was the best they could come up with, WTF?
Lastly, I totally agree, who gives a fly-ing F**K what brand of suit or gown your wearing!!!!!
Funniest part was seeing Gordon's wife tower over him. He looks about 4'-8" standing next to her LMFAO.
Come on Daytona!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
i know back when ole #3 got his 5th...i was on the edge of my seat all nite long ~ yep that was gettin towards the end of REAL Racin celebrations...now if ya want the REAL DEAL stick w/yur home/local track awards THATS WHERE ITS AT...(who needs a Hollywood GALA) yep theres still IRON Men/HEADs ~whatever~ always will be be around the Northeast..... ;D
-
Amen, brother
-
I honestly don't remember the banquet ever being fun to watch. So, I don't,and haven't, in years.
-
Watching Nascrap banquet not much different than watching nNascrap races...... Nap Time!!!

Ditto

I was in line for a coffee at the local donut shop. They had a small makeup cataloge on the counter promoting x-mass specials.
The front cover featured a new men's calone called "Corner4XT" by Carl Edwards!
Give me a friggin break.

The only cup banquet I found even remotely entertaining was back in the early 80's. Waltrip & Bobby Allison were fighting hard for the title. Allison dropped out of the last race of the season with engine trouble. They later discovered that someone had put sugar in his fuel tank. Waltrip opened his acceptance speech with the following: "I just want to make one thing clear, I use Sweet & Low."
-
I was gonna watch it but the Australian Rules Lawn Bowling All-Star game was on another channel and I just couldn't pull myself away. :P
-
It seemed like everyone that spoke was taking turns trying to be comedians. Even the actual comedian wasnt funny and I usually like him. I felt awkward just watching it.

If NASCAR was smart the "champions week" would be in Charlotte, the banquet would be at the Hall of fame. For the week everybody could be involved from the race teams showing of their shops to driver's involved with the fans. Again if NASCAR was smart and their really concerned with the fans this seems to be a no lose plan but it seems that the cities picked are where Brian was to vaction.
-
"....if NASCAR was smart and their really concerned with the fans ....... Ha Ha Ha. Greg's tellin funnies again. Maybe they'll get you to do the entertainment next year. That's a good one.... ;D
-
The ONLY ONE good thing about it was Ms Sprint Cup all dolled up instead of their Sprint Jumpsuits ;D ;D ;D
-
I'm sure Vagas paid dearly for the chance to be the Host.
Don't forget this is nascar, they don't do anything unless a "Ben Franklin" is attached to it!
