You guys should keep that car, and do it someday! When ever, I find like that is hard to come buy, as you already know. Here is the latest of the valiant. It is making a nice bench right now. Doug you have mail from me. Rip
Al Golly's Show car offset driver car....pretty much the same as Chuck Ciprich had driven earlier. photo by me.
here's the Ciprich car of similar design from Show Car Engineering but probably a good five years previous. I believe this is a Russ Mills shot.
By the way Frank Smalley o f Smalleys transmissions in Montour Falls still has an exact copy of this cars chassis.

with Daytona coming up, this seemed appropriate...From Illustrated Speedway News 8-26-1969(photographer unkown)
Blackjack - looks like Charlie Glotzbach, Cale Yarborough & Bobby Allison. Look at the 'plain' firesuits with no sponsors!
I knew Bobby (one of my boyhood heros)...wasn't sure about the others
A little history, as I knoe=w it about the 5 car behind Al Golleys Coupe.
This was originally the White 14J Corvair that Tom Ewing owned, and Alan Johnson started his career in.
After Alan left, it was painted Red and dropped the "J" from the number, and was driven by Ed Ortiz, Wally Burnett, and possibly others.
When we partnered with the Ewings, and had a new car built, the Corvair was sold to Bruce Lord who drove it in this shot.

from Illustrated Speedway News- 6/18/1968...Sprints on the Asphalt (no info available)
Pretty high banking... Winchester or Salem maybe?
another picture of a Sprint...this one on dirt...I have no idea who, when, where or how I came across it, but a vey cool pic....
Rob, I think that's actually a "Big" car otherwise known as a Champ-Car since it has an Offenhouser engine and most of the sprints by that time were Chevies. Another factoid about the 5b of bruce Lord is I believe the original builder was Dave Nichols of asphalt fame and it may have originally been intended to be a "Tar-Car" as Tom Ewing entered a very similar one at Pocono on the 3/4 mile and I believe it went out over the wall!!! I was there but I may have my facts mixed up!
