Another one I snapped on Labor day at the NYS fair 42 years ago today! Rudolf, brightbill and Cook come down the homestretch!
Brightbill won the feature. Neither Rudolph or Cook qualified.
Buzzie !!! coming into the pits at Syracuse with front end trouble. I think this was 1974 and it may be the fair race rather than the SCHAEFER race. I think he won the first one in 72 and again in 73 but not this year. pic by me.
another Buzzie pic, this one from 1977 at Syracuse....still running the coupe!

It was posted in the racing discussion section a while back. It's sad. I grew up watching him at Weedsport and Oswego in the 70's
Here's some Weedsport stuff from some of my programs, circa 1971 - 72
yes jimmy was a hard charger i lived near him good guy we helped each other a lot along with the other guys who lived close in Cicero
Not sure who the #21 was....I snapped this pic in 1971 at the Langhorne National open. Wish I could go back to the days when the driver was about 60% of the equation rather than about 20%!!!
My buddy Billy Schroth in the Bauer #75 at Middletown. He won a few URC races in this ride and came in 2nd in the standings. If you ever get a chance to talk to Bill about the old days of racing ...DO IT !!! He has a good memory and about a gazillion stories about when "men were Men and smelled like horses"!!!!
Gator photo of Nolan Swift and crew after winning the State Fair race in 1958.
At the 1972 Syracuse race. Darrell Welty (in afro ) make's plans with his Dad, Norm Welty before taking to the Moody Mile in the ex- Jim Caroll, Graeme Bolia coupe with the honkin 396 Big Block. They look like they're looking at a map so maybe they were planning their escape?! Pic by me.
I'm looking for info and/or pics of this car for someone on facebook. This is the history he has.
"Here's 2 photos of my modified stock car, a '36 Chevy coach body, which was built in Tonawanda (Buffalo) in the winter 1966-67. The front and side crash bars are new, rear may be original. Also new is the sheet metal on the sides of the car. The hood is original but modified a little. The "fenders" over the rear wheels are new. Car originally ran as #65 and #95 at Syracuse Fairgrounds, Lancaster, Waterloo and probably other tracks as well. Drivers were Bill Torrisi and Ken Meahl and others and the car ran both asphalt and dirt over the years."
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
BigFeet,
A friend of mine, Allan Isselhard, has a car that is not done, but looks quite a bit like the one in your pics (same car?). If it's not him you're looking to get information for, send me an email (wfitzsimmons@yaho.com) and I'll hook you two up.
Bill
There is a Lancaster facebook page that has pics of this car as the #65 and as the #89.
