Another site has a picture from the 1973 Syracuse race. It has Jack Johnson being in the #21 black coupe. Is this true? Who owned the car?
I remember Jack driving a #21 coupe about that time. But I remember the color to be similar to his 12a. I know I have a pic in one of my programs. Not sure who owned it. Do you have a link to the pic?
This car? Maybe it was black. As said on the other forum, I do think it was owned by Jim Riggi.
Weedsport 1973
Yes I do have a link to the sight. It is

Yeah that's the car. It does look like it could be a Harry Peek car, but it was owned by Jim Riggi. This is a paragraph from Jack Johnson's driver profile in the 1973 NYS Fair Labor Day program.
"This year, Jack's luck was just the opposite, as he got off to a terrible start. In his first three trips to the Port, Jack only qualified once. Things began to pick up when he drove Jimmy Riggi's #21 four weeks ago here and finished third."
Hey, Bigfeet13 do yoy have anymore photos of Jack Johnson in the number 21 coupe ? Did he ever win any races in this car ?

That's the only picture I have. I remember seeing the car a couple times, but I was really young. He only ran the car a couple times at Weedsport. I don't remember him winning in it, but I was rather young. I don't know how I even remembered that, other than it was rare not to see Jack in the 12a back then. The only other car I remember him driving in the 70s was the Leto Bros. 50.
In the 60's Jack also drove the black and yellow 37 car that I believe was owned by Vallano's (sp?). Rick Perry now owns one of those cars that he shows at the Midstate Antique Club.
I believe the photo of the Cagle 24 was taken at Lebanon Valley (if not, maybe Victoria Speedway). I also see Frank Trinkas' speed truck.

Tony Villano I believe owned the 37. I think there was a coupe and a falcon. That was just before my time.
Thanks Bob...Funny you should ask. I just got home with a 1993 Tobias "Tri-Track" 4-bar car that I am going to turn into a Tobias inspired mid-seventies Mustang II ....I'm JACKED!
Phil's car is sweet by the way.....
As previously mentioned, I have an older Tobias that was campained by Jim Mahaney of King's Ferry. He was gracious enough to lend me a few photos of the car in the mid-nineties.
The first picture is of the car just before a show....
This next picture is Jim winning a big one......
By the By...if anyone knows where there is a used up '74ish Mustang II Coupe, let me know...Thanks
I believe Jim brought that car back out to run one race at Redline in or around 2004 or 2005 when they had a big-block small block alcohol allowed race. He had some big old drag style tires on and the car was a rocket! I think I got in his way and caused him to crash or he probably would have won the race with a car that was sitting in moth balls for about ten years! At that time it was plain white with no graphics. here's an oldie but goodie. I shot it at the 1970 langhorne Nationl Open.
