Are the guys in that photo related?!?!?!?
The duelling birds pic is of Chuck Booth and Wally Meskowski at the Indianapolis Fairgrounds.

Ron, no doubt about that!!! LOL! Unless it's Cozze - Frank's usually running too close to the cushion to see into the cockpit to tell if he's flipping the bird. <g>
Great Brewerton pics. Big smile: Updike, Bolia, Orso, Carista. Thanks
Looking at the 1971 National Open results, I believe only two of the drivers in that race will take to the track in 2012. Geoff Bodine and Buzzie Reutiman...possibly Ernie Marshall unless the one I read about is his son. Oh, and maybe Will Cagle. I don't feel all that old but I started racing 4 years after the 71 race and unless my health changes dramatically I intend to race way more than four more years! Just call me iron man......or maybe stupid!!! Here's a pic I snapped during the 71 race.
Mr Modified, Ray Hendrick at Langhorne. Always resented those southern full bodied Modifieds. Modifieds are Coupes and Coaches or compact cars with no fenders. Like Tom Hnaks said in League of Their Own, "there's no crying in basesball! " Only it goes like this, "There's no fenders in Modified racing!".
Here are the remaining finishers for the 1971 Langhorne National Open (Race of Champions) event. I sent them to the Vintage Racer site months ago, but I guess that they didn't update them. I sent them some other updates for the Langhorne results that I've helped compile on that site too, but I haven't seen any changes.
It's probably going to be three drivers in the '71 starting field who are still active or will be racing this season. Tommy Corellis was racing and winning in South Carolina last season.

38. Gene Bergin (CT)
39. Bob Hudson (NY)

Strange not to see Maynard Troyer on that list.
I found this site on "Program Covers" while doing some research. Great site and I'm sure some of you guys could really add a lot to what they have...enjoy!
