To end the mystery of the Binner-Peters car, I believe this to be Chuck Watson. When we teamed up, it seemed our motor ran better in his chassis. His car was (I think) a '63 Chevelle with a Chevy 289, car #3. Ours was a 70 Chevelle (bought from Dick Cooke) with a Chevy 327.
His car handled... our motor ran. Together, we should have won the Waterloo Raceway re-opening, as we were WAY out front with only about a lap-1/2 to go when it dropped a driveshaft. If memory serves, Walt Mitchell wound up winning that race.
We did wind up teaming with Denis Taney not long after this, but it was a Camaro bodied car... the Red #66.
Dale... I think Darrell was there that day driving the Fischer 98Jr.
My brother and I were working at Canandaigua when Alan towed in his first #14 modified. Freddy Brooks ran that number, so Alan had to change. Big-mouth brother suggested, "Just put a J on it." Forever more, scorers will bemoan the addition of letters to car numbers.
I still see Fred Brooks as he was in NAPA in Morrisville on Monday where I work. He priced out an inner fender for a '87 Chevy truck he uses to plow snow. When I gave him the price he decided to get it as he was thinking about building one out of wood! I will be sure to show him this thread when he comes in next time.
Here's a picture of the 98JR with car owner John Fisher and Bro Darrell in victory lane at Rolling Wheels. This car was a little behind the times but on Drag Tires it would really run! I know Darrell won at both Rolling wheels and Weedsport in this car but I'm not sure about Waterloo or Canandaguia. One night he finished in it as a convertable as the roof was raising up on the straights and he was reaching up and holding it down but on the last lap it went up before he could grab it and Darrell was top-less at the checkers. I'd like to see a pic of that!
Here's Darrell with his very first race car the 57 plymouth 318 cu in. Ran dirt and pavement. Man is he young here! Hair not quite out to the full afro yet....just fashionably curley!
This Super 8 home footage from Fulton was posted on Youtube about a year ago. I never noticed it until now:
I’m thinking this is actually from 1974 as Geoff Bodine was still in the #99 then and Sonny Seamon would have been in the #50 Pinto that year. In ’75, Sonny was in the #86 at Fulton. I can’t make out the numbers on some of them.
As they roll out of the pits for a heat race: 86 (not sure who drove it in ‘74) 231 Donnie Kroft ? (Looks like it might be Diff in the Schutt 40?) 16 Dick Clark 41 Bernie Miller ? 50 Sonny Seamon 5 Larry Edwards
Next heat: 17 Ken Canestrari 99 Geoff Bodine 20 Rick Thorpe 12 Larry Nye 88 Mike Loescher ? 6 Maynard Troyer ? 38 Jerry Cook
Also, Fulton strictly stock action:
The same person who posted these videos also has one that he believes is Shangri-la from the same era, but it looks like Stafford to me:
Agree on the year,,1974. Mike Loescher drove the Al Schutt Vega, and Diff was his teammate. Both cars were kept at Mike's shop, which was about 2 miles from where I lived, then.

here's one I snapped of Toby Tobias and Tighe Scott on the back straight at Syracuse in 1977. Does anyone know the guy on the Van 's Roof! pic by Welty.
