BRP Dart Challenge @ Black Rock Friday
…John Waters Hopes to Extend Streak…

Dundee, NY…John Waters will enter Friday’s (Aug 3) Bicknell Racing Products (BRP) Dart Challenge at Black Rock Speedway (BRS) undefeated after three Challenge events. Waters hopes
to extend his Challenge win streak to four and then make it a clean sweep when the Challenge concludes at Little Valley Speedway on Wednesday August 29.

“We will take each race one at a time.  It would be cool to win them all, but the odds of doing that are not great.  We have had a dream season so far this year and, of course, we want it to continue winning.  Dale (LeBarron - car owner) has given me everything we need to win, but many of the other guys have good stuff too.  I have had a lot of good luck which plays heavily into the success we have been enjoying.  Our luck changed on Saturday at Woodhull when I got caught up in a crash.  I hope that kind of luck is behind us,” shared Waters from his race shop in Whitesville, NY

Thirteen wins, a bunch of top five finishes, and only twice has Waters not finished a race this season.  That is the definition of a “dream season.”

Included in Waters’s win total are four of the six BRP late model events completed to date at BRS.  He has accumulated eight wins including the last four in a row at Woodhull Raceway and a single win at Little Valley Speedway. A “dream season” indeed!

The only drivers to beat Waters at BRS this year are Bruce Miller and Mike Wonderling.  Both of those drivers will enter Friday’s event with the sole objective of adding to their win total.

Jason Knowles, the 2009 Black Rock late model champion, has finished second to Waters in both prior Challenge events and the second generation driver from Painted Post will be out to reverse the finishing order on the 3rd.  Knowles is currently second in Challenge points, just 25 points behind Waters.

Current point standings (top 10 of 29): John Waters – 300, Jason Knowles – 275, Jeremy Wonderling – 256, Bruce Miller – 238, Jared Hill – 235, Mike Wonderling – 219, Brian Knowles – 187, Dusty Waters – 186, Mikey Wonderling – 185, Barry Payne - 174

The BRP Dart Challenge is a cooperative effort between John Charlesworth of Little Valley Speedway and Dean Hoag of Black Rock Speedway. The Challenge offers a $6500 point fund for six events.

Black Rock Speedway gates will open at 5:00 on Friday (August 3).  Cars will go on the track for hot laps at 6:15 and the first green flag at 7:00; additional information @ BlackRockSpeedway.com
