There's still racing this season!
« on: October 09, 2018, 07:05:15 AM »
For those of you looking for some racing to see before the snow flies, here's a brief list of dirt track events over the next two weekends:

Brockville Loud and Dirty Fall Nationals, Friday and Saturday 10/12-13 (SB, BB, sportsman DIRTcar sanctioned event), Brockville, Ont, CA
Port Royal Speedway "Speed Showcase" featuring the return of the modified to the Juniata County Fairgrounds, along with the 410 sprint cars, Friday 10/12, Port Royal, PA (a Short Track Super Series event)
Genesee Speedway with "The Gladiator" SB/BB challenge with sportsman and stocks, Batavia, NY, Saturday, 10/13

10/19-10/20 will feature the Dutch Hoag Wild 7's Fall Nationals at Outlaw Speedway (multiple press releases on here already about that)
10/18-10/21 at Orange County Fair Speedway sees the Short Track Super Series on Thursday, 10/18, for the "Hard Clay Finale", ramping everyone else up to the historic Eastern States Weekend beginning Friday 10/19 through Sunday 10/21. Non-DIRTcar sanctioned, but run under the DIRTcar rule book.

If you have something to add, please feel free! See you at the track!

Good list.  I will add:

Nittany 50 Closes CCMS Season October 20; $5,000 Awaits The Super Late Model Winner
 October 7, 2018
Published Sunday October 7, 2018
Lock Haven, PA- The 2018 racing season is winding down at Clinton County Motor Speedway. Despite terrible weather, during the summer, the 3/8th mile oval is enjoying a rebirth as it continues on the path to return to excellence.
Several weeks ago, Promoter Sam Ray told race fans he hopes to present more special events next season. Ray decided now is the correct time to preview 2019 with the largest super late model event at the track in recent memory.
The Nittany 50 for super late models will be run Saturday October 20th. The winning driver earns $5,000.
Pro Stocks are also part of the program and will compete in a $500 to win, 20 lap feature event. A 500 cfm legal two barrel carburetor is required in the pro stock class.
General Admission tickets are reasonably priced at just $15. Students 12-17 will be admitted for $10. Pit admission is $35.
Gates open at 3 pm with warm ups set for 6. Racing is set for 6:30.
Two previous super late shows have been run CCMS this season. Dylan Yoder won the June 29th show. Coleby Frye picked up the win August 25. With most other area speedways racing concluded, a top field of competitors is expected.
The Nittany 50 is presented by S&R Repair, Towing & Recovery of Milesburg, G & R Excavating & Demolition of Tyrone and Strouse Electric Inc., of Bellefonte.
S & R specializes in light & heavy duty towing, load shifting & transfer and, HAZ-MAT spill cleanup. They’re can be reached at 800-821-8287.
G & R specialize in site excavation, demolition and recovery from their Tyrone, PA locations. G & R has a landscape supply business and offers a warehouse full of older salvage items from properties they have razed. They’re the perfect place to look for any home items for your housing repairs and restorations.
Scott Strouse at Strouse Electric is a total service electrical contractor specializing in new residential and commercial installations and repairs. They’re located in Bellefonte and can be contacted at (814)-383-4407 or (814)-353-0178.
Mark your calendar and join us at Clinton County Motor Speedway where real old school racing is alive and well. The track is known for its smooth, fast, tacky surface which allows three wide racing and plenty of passing.

Add Utica-Rome to the list with Sportsman/Pro Stocks and Monster Trucks on Oct. 27th...same day, Adirondack is doing a couple of Enduros and a train race.
