Racing Discussion / Re: head and neck restraints
« on: 01 Feb, 2014 00:01 »
I have a necksgen (not the new rev). I did alot of research before getting one and it was my pick. It covers all impacts, front and offset. The straps slide so you can actually turn your head to talk to someone in your window. Its really not uncomfortable. After your moving in the car you dont even know you have it on. It does feel slightly weird not to have the belts tight on your shoulders though.

The only thing that concerns me about the rev is how small it seams? Almost like its too small? I have to wonder if the owner of necksgen getting sued, twice and losing, has anything to do with that? First it was with the bright green defender brand then with the style of necksgen that I have. How knows?

Racing Discussion / Re: Shangri La 2 bounced checks?
« on: 11 Sep, 2013 20:23 »
if it is "good information" i would appreciate knowing. i was there last week and plan on returning this week. when i pick up my check i will endorse it and ask them to cash it for me as i will be buying fuel to race there again. if its a good check they should have no problem doing that.
if they won't i will be suspicious of their reason. i went there to give them a chance and still want to finish out the season there. its a blast going fast!  :)

John I did just this before to buy tires. (more than once) It was never a problem. Also just like Chris said, I never had a problem cashing a check.

There was a transcript of the conversation between Vickers and his Crew Chief in yesterdays USA Today. They didn't use any code words like Bowers team. They had to know Nascar was listening.

From USA Today...

Brian Vickers audio

(With four laps to go)

Crew: "We're probably going to pit here on green."

Vickers: "Are you talking to me?

Crew: "Yeah, we're going to pit."

Vickers: "What? I've got to pit? … I don't understand. Pit right now?"

Crew: "You've got to pit this time. We need that one point."

Vickers: "10-4. Do I got a tire going down?"

Crew: "Yeah. … Come down pit road right now, get a good look at it."

Vickers: "Did you find anything?"

Crew: "I'll see you after the race, Brian. I owe you a kiss."

I read the press Q&A transcript from nascar. Its pretty much says that this was from the radio chatter from the 55 car and Ty Norris, not as much as Clint spinning. I tried to find that conversation or in car audio from the 55 but could not with a quick search. Does anyone know where that could be found?

Even I have better car control.

Looked like he had pretty good control to me! Not easy to spin and not hit anyone or wreck your car, especially with a itchy arm or what ever the exCUsE  was...

What is the final Drive for gearing that I will need?  never raced there..

Thanks Tim B #23

5.19 is the track rule and unless you have a really stout motor I'm not sure you want to go much over that. Just a little over that and you will be pulling close to 7,500 rpm. Just under the rule and you should be closer to 7,000 rpm.

Anyone have a like to the ROC rules?

I'm a Kurt Busch fan, always have been. Now what I need to figure out is if I like Kurt Busch more than I hate Tony Stewart  >:(
I wish he would have stayed with Funiture Row...

Kyle Larson is a Ganassi development driver.................

Kyle Larson was traded to Hendrick as part of the deal for Hendrick to supply EGR with motors. Larson is going to replace Jeff Gordon when his contract is up in 2 years. My money is on Newman.

Jeff Gordon has said many times that he has a "life time" contract with Hendrick.

there is just no way you can park a car when there is a memorable night and money like this on the line.

This is going to be a great race, for a wonderful woman who I unfortunately never had the opportunity to meet! Like I already said, I want to be in this race more than anything else but one night racing is not worth what I would have to deal with after that!  :o
I know its easy to say, put an experienced driver in your car for one night and collect a huge pay day but the reality is a little different.
$2,225 (lap money) / 15 (conservative car count)=  $148 + $150 (track pay out for about 8th)= $298. I realize that you have the potential to win more but also to get even less. Now factor in the cost of 1 tire/wheel for a mishap in a heat race $115+$75=$190 or the $60 in tow money getting car to the track. Whos going to pay the race fuel cost for the night 10 gallons X $9.15= $91.50  and all this is a "best case scenario"  How much do you think it costs to reclip a chassis?
None of these costs matter to us racers when we are racing because its what we do, its what we love, but its not worth it to me to take a chance of not being able to finish out the season over a $100 "pay day"!
I hope that everyone racing in this race has a wonderful time, I will miss not being there!

Skip the reception! I did last Thursday and will again when my niece gets hitched on Aug 3rd. People need to stop bothering others when they get married.
I'm not going to NASCAR anytime soon so there is no need to get my wife upset with me because I want to go racing. Its just not worth it. Believe me, I want to be their more than anyone else! Racing is what I think about pretty much 24/7 but sometime you have to put others first.

If the cars don't show up for this....they're nuckin' futs!  ???

or your sister-in-law is getting married... :'(

Hmmm..... so there will be a car sitting idle?  ;)

Unfortunately...
