Any news from Lancaster last night. Heard 26 sport mods, then nothing.

They had this on the Facebook page, but the full finishes weren't with it.

Scott Wylie beats Emerling for Summer Slam Gold!!!

Scott Wylie driving the newly formed Joey Stearns race team #14 utilized a late race caution to get past NASCAR star Patrick Emerling and pick up the Sportsman win in front of NO FANS by order of the state Saturday night in what was considered opening night at the lightning fast half mile oval.

Patrick from Orchard Park took the lead from his 2nd place starting position and had control of the race and looked to be on cruise control until a caution on lap 48 of 50 changed the complexion of the 50 lap race.

That last restart was single file and Wylie used a solid restart to work his way underneath Emerling and led the last 2 laps and pocket the $2000 first place CASH !!

In Street Stock action the #55 of Tommy Wentland led wire to wire to pock up his first career win at Lancaster. The #99 of Brian Hoffman made a charge through the field after the first 23 laps went caution free and was up to second almost a full straight away behind the leader. The first and only caution would erase that deficit and put Brian Hoffman on the back bumper of the #55 of Tommy Wentland for the final 3 laps. After the #99 threw everything INCLUDING the kitchen sink at the rear bumper of Tommy Wentland, the #55 was able to hold on for career win number one.

In 4 Cyl. action it was a battle of bumper cover beat downs. Race winner #10 of Charles Palmer started 4th and would use the inside groove to his advantage to win the main event. Numerous cautions plagued the event but didn't stop the non stop action that the 4 Cylinder class provides.

T.Q. action had a 4 car shootout that was won by #39 Bobby Holmes. Homes led most of the even but had to use some slick driving in lap traffic to hold off 2nd place driver along with Dave Wollaber and Shawn Nye.

Congratulations winners and everyone who came to keep them safe!! See all of you again on Saturday, August 8th for our next LANCASTER SPEEDWAY STOCK CAR EVENT!!
