COMING WEEKS ARE IMPORTANT FOR DELANGE RACING

The next few weeks are a crucial period for Eric Beers and the DeLange Racing team. Their primary focus for this season is to win the 2009 Race of Champions Dart Asphalt Modified Tour championship. After three of nine listed events on this year?s RoC schedule, the team is fifth in the title standings, just 15 points behind the leader. With three races scheduled in the next four weeks, this will be a vital phase in reaching their target.

The first test will come at Wyoming County International Speedway in Perry, New York on Friday, July 10. That is followed the next weekend on July 18 with a contest at Dunn Tire Raceway Park, considered by our team to be their ?home? track. The final Race of Champions Tour battle to close out this important period on the calendar will come just two weeks later at Chemung Speedrome in the Southern Tier of New York.

?These are important races coming up,? says team owner Dave DeLange. ?We?re in a good position to win the RoC championship this year, and that is our principal goal. These next three races will go a long way toward determining our destiny.?

Between the events at Dunn Tire and Chemung will be the third of six hands to be dealt in the 2009 Modified 100 Poker Series at Mahoning Valley Speedway in Lehighton, Pennsylvania. The DeLange team won the first hand on April 18 and was leading the second hand on June 6 when a mechanical failure forced them to fold their cards. They return to Mahoning on July 25 with a new deck to shuffle and deal.

?We had a motor problem in the last race at Mahoning while we were leading,? explains DeLange. ?We had just moved into that position when a five dollar internal part failed inside the engine, just a freak incident. That has all been repaired and completely tested by our motor builder, Scott Ritter of RPM Racing Engines, and he assures us the deck will be stacked in our favor once again. All we need to do is play our cards right to win the pot.?

The next four weeks will help to shape how our 2009 season will turn out. We?re fully prepared for success. It?s time to go racing!
