I like how at least half of all people don't even acknowledge the midgets in the post. They are faster than any other division and put on a great show! Wish these guys weren't treated like red headed step children so much. And the 01 gets my vote for the midget champion.

I honestly know 2 tq drivers, Dean Mchan... forgive my lack of knowing his last name and Cam Barber. Its not that I chose NOT to acknowledge the tq's, I just do not have enough information to make a prediction.

:D

Way I read it is if your curb weight is less than 2000 that's what you have to way.  If your curb weight is 2700 you gotta be 2600 2400 you gotta be 2300. Pretty simple.

I find it hard to believe that a hornet car can turn the same lap times as a charger and still be legal....jmo

Believe it. Lol. My car has had every nut and bolt removed in tech.

IM SURPRISED IT TOOK THIS LONG FOR SOMEONE TO BRING A CRX BACK. MY COUSIN USED TO RUN A 1.5 LT CRX BACK WHEN THE 4 CYL. CLASSES FIRST STARTED. HE WON THE STINGER (DOC) CHAMPIONSHIP FOR EVERY YEAR OF ITS EXISTENCE. AND WON COUNTLESS FEATURES IN BOTH. IM CURIUOS AS TO WHAT IS CONCIDERED A GOOD LAP TIME IN HORNETS NOW? WHEN WE RAN IN IT AND REALLY DID OUR HOMEWORK WE WER RUNNING 18 FLAT.
Thats why i didnt understand when they said he did his homework?? It was never illegal to run a CRX and other people did run them like the Welshans.

Doesnt matter how you phrase it. It was the car to beat. And by homework that means research.

18.1 is the best lap I ever turned in practice.

Ben's car turned a 17.5 a few times before the car got twisted up.

It's the whole reason I went to a smaller car. Oh well.

Time to strip the Olds down to 2k and show some gm love.  8)

It was good racing, i never said it wasnt, but when your car is weighing so much less than other cars and your beating them easily this is how you level the playing field. This class has turned into more than a beginner class now its real racing

And I totally agree with you. The track advertises it as a beginner class, but the drivers are far from beginners.

But tell me how a 2000# 108hp car can keep up with a 2000# 150hp car? How does that bring the cars and racing closer together?

Mathematically doesn't make sense.

I dont think you will have a problem conforming to this one rule change Jeff, it looked a little easy for you going to the front every week in that "junk" CRX

After that thing hit the wall (by the way was the week I added 200#'s to my cars stock weight) it was a battle to get it back up front every week.

Track is basically asking everyone to shed 100-200#s and for me to add another 100#s.

To me the racing was close at the end of the season. If you guys don't think so then so be it.

Well I have to call Al in the morning but the way I read the book:

Guy with 160hp Accord can gut his car to 2000#s.
Guy with 120hp Civic has to ad 200#s to factory weight.

Takes an equal field and turns it lopsided.

Alright i see Jeff is up to his typical vague silly season antics like bringing the olds to the mall and telling everyone the crx was junk Haha. So ill play along, who is 54? Cali is 69 btw.

00 - define supposedly. They have cars yet?

Wish there was a like button to that comment! :)

I'm working on a Charger but unfortunately it will not be ready till mid season or next year. PS (Its an ElCamino....)

As for the CRX after it ate the wall it was hard to put back together. I don't know if I'll be able to get it straight enough to pass the new rules this year. Only time will tell when they come out (the rules that is).

I'm sorry, not the 54, the 59 Tim Swathsworth *(spelling?).

And no, no Olds at the Mall this year, just my new Nissan..........
