Outlaw Speedway,Dundee,N.Y.question

I took a road trip the other day trying to beat the heat wave when my travels brought me to Dundee so I decided to find the speedway and check it out.I could not believe how close the track is to the main road.I have read that people park on the side of the road and watch the races for free.Do fans still do this and how big is the track,i read that it is 4/10 of a mile?

I was last there two years ago and believe the state police were making folks move plus I think it was signed as no stopping.

See a few cars stop for a couple of laps then they move on .great track

Yes it is listed as a 4/10 mile track.  As for how close it is to the road; last year a car lost its wheel.  The wheel took a crazy bounce off the wall/barrier, cleared the turn 1 fence and continued out and across 14A.  A Red Jeep Cherokee heading North had to slow for it     Totally agree with Charlie, awesome track, amazing car counts (especially during their special events).  Good chicken dinners too
