Racing Discussion / Need a racing fix?
« on: 21 Jan, 2021 23:02 »
Just wanted to put this out there. If your looking to get a racing fix during the long winter be sure to check out the WNY iRacers. Some of you have probably seen some of our weekly modified series races but coming up January 29th and 30th we are partnering with Jody London and GTR Promotions to present the XMR modified and Dave London Memorial races that Jody had made so successful.

You can catch the broadcast on Facebook here: https://www.facebook.com/wnyiracersbroadcast

Racing Discussion / Lancaster 8/22
« on: 24 Aug, 2015 00:02 »
Haven't seen much weekly Lancaster talk. How about the car counts really going up, 62 total over four classes is not that bad including 21 sportmods. Unfortunately, that count might be down next week.

If you haven't seen it yet check out this rough crash on a late restart. Thankfully everyone walked away.

Love seeing the track starting to flourish, keep up the good work!

Racing Discussion / WNY Street Stocks return!
« on: 26 Sep, 2013 23:42 »
Following a couple of successful events at Holland Speedway the Western New York street stocks will be making their debut at the Fall Shootout October 5th at WCIS. The race will be open to Lancaster legal street stocks, all cars will be subject to tech performed by wcis officials. The race will be 25 laps and will pay $150 to win and $50 to start. I will be running a lap sponsorship program to help out competitors. Due to time constraints I'm looking to sell as many laps as possible so they will be $15 a piece, I'm also open to any other contingency donations anyone is interested in. I will be collecting laps at the track on race day, or they can be dropped of at my work; Napa Auto Parts 2110 Elmwood ave Buffalo, if you do plan on dropping it off please contact me on here or Facebook so I can let you know that I will be there.

Thanks to Dakota Packman and WCIS for their cooperation putting this event on. Looking forward to getting the racers another chance to get on the track.

All procedures will be run the same as the previous two races with one exception; the purse will be paid via Holland and will be $150 to win and $30 to start. But don't let that sway you our usual sponsor will be supplying bonus money in various ways. We need confirmation of drivers interested so please contact me if you will be attending.

Racing Discussion / Street stocks at Holland 8/31
« on: 27 Aug, 2013 14:38 »
Thanks to all of the racers and sponsors who made last week a huge success. Congrats to Terry Weldy on a huge win, I don't think he could have planned his night any better.

This week is going to be set up just like last week. The purse is around $1200 so far and we also have more prizes from Napa Auto Parts, The Blue Wall, and others TBA.

As far a roster everyone from last week is registered to race again. We have had a couple of new drivers express interest in running so the field may be growing.

Racing Discussion / Lancaster street stocks at Holland!
« on: 19 Aug, 2013 15:09 »
Just got off the phone with John Lyon the last two weeks at Holland will have a Lancaster legal street stock race.

1. MUST have a minimum of 10 cars no exception.
2. $30 to get in for driver or crew with Lancaster license, no need for a NASCAR license.
3. Lancaster rules only.

The purse is undetermined at this time, and payout will come out of pocket from John Lyon and TDH Refridgeration. Anyone with sponsers looking to help would be appreciated.

Thanks to all the street stock drivers who stood up for what is right, now lets have some fun and finish the season off

Racing Discussion / Free ticket promotion for EBRP
« on: 23 Jul, 2013 12:42 »
At the last race I thought I heard about a promotion for two free tickets to one of the upcoming races. Unfortunately I couldn't make it out over the PA system, does anyone know anything about it? I contacted one of the employees from the track already but they haven't gotten back to me.

According to their respective Facebook profiles both Todd Hannon and Tim Packman have resigned from their duties... Sounds like bad news to me, two steps forward three giant leaps backwards.

Racing Discussion / DTRP gets up front coverage
« on: 11 Jun, 2011 11:22 »
Check out www.buffalonews.com not only did they get an article in the paper, but an over 4 minute video on the website.  Any publicity is good publicity, but sounded kinda desperate, hopefully it helps out.

Results:
4 cyl:
1.Charles Buchanan
2. Roesch
3. Henja
SS:
1.John Hewson
2. Gallager
3.Straus
4. Stein
Sportsman: Rain

Moved the show along very quickly, no victory lane, and no autograph session helped out.  Sprinkled during most of the four cylinder and street stock race.  Buchanan moved throught the field quickly after starting 7th and led most of the race.  Hewson started 7th and moved his way past Mike Nash after a 7 or 8 lap side by side battle for 3rd.  A caution with around 10 or 8 to go caught him up with the leader gallager and mutka, and with around 5 to go hewson moved past gallager for the win.  Sportsman race started but only made one lap, race was cut down to 50 right from the start....heat races were tough many cars got banged up in both heat races.

Racing Discussion / DTRP 8-14-10 results
« on: 15 Aug, 2010 09:45 »
Sportsman: Fidanza
Tommy Agen 50: Hewson
4 Cylinder: Durf

Street Stock race was hands down the best race in a while...close battles all night long with a bunch of lead changes, John Hewson started last after cutting a tire in the heat and made the pass on Mike Nash on the last lap.

Sportsman race sucked...sege beat McGrath by at least a half a track.
