Racing Discussion / Need a racing fix?
« on: 21 Jan, 2021 23:02 »
Just wanted to put this out there. If your looking to get a racing fix during the long winter be sure to check out the WNY iRacers. Some of you have probably seen some of our weekly modified series races but coming up January 29th and 30th we are partnering with Jody London and GTR Promotions to present the XMR modified and Dave London Memorial races that Jody had made so successful.

You can catch the broadcast on Facebook here: https://www.facebook.com/wnyiracersbroadcast

I was surprised how empty they were also. Though I live in Knoxville and there was a lot happening in east Tenn. this weekend. Saturday there was the UT football scrimmage. Saturday and Sunday there was an airshow featuring the blue angels that drew over 100,000 people both days, and the very popular rod run was happening Thursday through Saturday in Pigeon Forge near Dollywood. I have to assume some of this played apart in the low attendance. I still think the tickets are overpriced, if you wanna sit anywhere decent its at least $200 for a pair on Sunday.

Rob,

I was thinking the same thing as you. Not like its Andy's fault but how did he start on the pole? The original note from Dakota said that the cars that will qualify on Sunday will start after the cars that qualified on Saturday. Sure is a slap to the competitors that made the commitment to run the heats Saturday.

There were 16 cars yesterday plus Andy J, TJ Potz, and I also saw Neil Dietz practicing. I would say there will be at least 20. On a track like perry 18 is close to a full field. Sometimes you have to realize it quality not quantity. I wish I was in town to goto this race, the mods are great there.

Thats what I thought also, an entries list would be great.

I have one question, and I am not trying to cause a ruckus or be negative. Is the track surface ready for this kind of action? In the past it had trouble holding up to the mods.

On a positive note, way to go WCIS and Dakota. I am sure this will be one hell of an event.

Racing Discussion / Lancaster 8/22
« on: 24 Aug, 2015 00:02 »
Haven't seen much weekly Lancaster talk. How about the car counts really going up, 62 total over four classes is not that bad including 21 sportmods. Unfortunately, that count might be down next week.

If you haven't seen it yet check out this rough crash on a late restart. Thankfully everyone walked away.

Love seeing the track starting to flourish, keep up the good work!

This is kinda a shame. I think he attempted to take on way to much. Instead of being successful at one thing, he tried five things only to get nothing. Hope it works out for the best.

I read this on Jalopnik:

UPDATE: Many of you have mentioned the green flag waving above the incident, which seems disturbing in light of what's going on below. However, a commenter and frequent track marshal and numerous events, provides an explanation for why it's there:

The green flag is at the station AFTER the incident, which is per protocol - they had not yet deployed the safety car (single standing yellow + SC board all around the track) and were handling the Sutil car under a local yellow, following standard protocol. The station upstream is showing waved double-yellow (per FIA standard) as is correct.
