Well, I'll be damned. I never knew that Tony VICKIO ran either mods, OR Asphalt. The caption for the photo explains it, and leaves no doubt.
By the way, anyone have pictures of Vickio's car while it was still painted Orange? I thought that was a cool car, and with the 180 degree headers, it sounded just as cool. One of my all-time favorite cars!

Hey Joe, I remember that #56 Weld car when it was at Syracuse but I can't quite come up with a name! Here's one I snapped of Buzzie falling out of the 74 Fair race with what looks like a king-pin issue. photo by me.

The #56 is Gary Hieber of Langhorne PA. After modifieds, Hieber went on to race USAC Silver Crown cars for a number of years.
Memories came rushing to me with that picture of the Pine. What a great all around driver he was, one of the best builders he was and a great driver for the fans to get an autograph from. I saw him race many different cars starting at Oswego in 1962 with his first super. Everyone lost when he left us in 1982 at Oswego, as a fan it still hurts today.

Tony Vickio at Dundee Speedway 1978. I think this was the orange car but can not be sure. Black & white photo by Jerry Crans.
