Racing Discussion / Short track competition yellow..??
« on: March 16, 2014, 02:47:09 PM »
I know it sounds crazy.. but, think about it.. Almost all forms of racing had multiple chances to run HOT LAPS.. so they can work on their race cars to make sure they will put out the best product and the best show for the fans.. short track drivers don't get that luxury. Very seldom do they get more than 10 laps (usually not even close to that). and when they do (on dirt tracks) it's usually just a mud fest.. you don't even get any heat n the motor, tires and shocks..!  It's so hard for a small guy who works a 40 hr (or more) to get the right combination with 5 laps test time.. Either the tracks have to set up a hot lap session on an off night at least once a month. or on the big show nights like a 50 lap feature.. throw a comp yellow 20 laps in.. give the teams 10 mins. to make any reasonable adjustments to their cars and then go put on a hell of a show for the FANS, DRIVERS,SPONSORS & TRACK OWNERS and PROMOTERS.. If you want the sport to grow and advance.. how about a little innovation and give everyone a product we all can be proud of..

I don't know about you.. But I am totally sick of JOEY LAGANO sucking on a coke bottle before and after every interview..  "WE GET IT JOEY.. THEY SPONSOR YOU.."  How about having a little class and do a professional interview as just a competitor not a MEDIA WHORE..!!

The Tech Barn / difference in GM starters .?
« on: March 01, 2012, 10:24:54 PM »
I have a '77, 350 SBC. The starter is an angle bolt. I can't get a starter that fits the flywheel. It's an automatic And no matter what starter I try it just hits on the edge of the ring gear. Autozone has given me 3 starters and all the same problem.?? I have been a Chevy guy all my life and never ran into this before.?  Is there a rogue starter that I can try..? It's not an offset flywheel, and it's on the right way. Damn can somebody help us..?

I have a direct drive powerglide that the only way it works, is to hold the lever that allows the fluid to the valve body open.. as soon as you let go of it the trans stops working. It should work, that once you get it moving put it in low, shift into drive and go.. this doesn't work?? this is the second used trans we bought that does the same thing..?? Even changed the shifter and valve assembly..?  PLEASE HELP US.?

Racing Discussion / Help for a little injured racer..!
« on: May 27, 2011, 11:27:58 AM »
8 year old Brianna Baker was racing at "Little Meadows" race track when her and another racer made contact and put her in the the foam blocks. she has had severe head trauma and is in the  Upstate Medical Center in syracuse. the family needs your support and any financial help would be appreciated. As a racing community lets show this family what we are all about. If any of the tracks would be willing to pass the helmet for contributions pleas do so ! God Bless our future racers. Lets keep the next generation as safe, and show them why racers are a special breed of  Americans. The unfortunate aspect of this is she will never be able to race again because of a plate they had to put in here spine.!  Please do what you can.! this is her fathers cell number..(607) 761-8052 His name is Duane Baker. Or you can reach me at SJRatRod@hotmail.com Thank You and God Bless..!
