Erie has a great sound system
A lot of sound and lighting issues start with track maintenance...and of course money that they want to spend..
Charlie - looks like weedsport cancelled for tonight.
What is the itinerary for next Saturdays show? Mainly the starting time
What is the itinerary for next Saturdays show? Mainly the starting time
Pit gates 9am, practice/front gates 11am, and Racing at 2pm
Don't want to take from the show we had a blast just couldn't hear anything even when they were idling around the track didn't know who was there til the top twelve redraw and when they they announce starting feature fields, the SST field was star studed as were the supers an Minis.
We just had a powerful storm go through Western NY (including the WCIS area--judging by the radar echo. although it was short in the duration, it would have made for a dangerous situation!!!
So: good call!
Wonder how many will return? When I was standing in line to buy my ticket fire Saturday only, people were asking what there raindate was, her response I have no idea. Regarding the PA Paz, even when the cars weren't moving on the track, still couldn't hear the announcers. I wish Dave the dude was calling it yesterday. He's very informative. The show did move right along, started on time. Nice tribute to Jim Pierce. Also heard many fans stating they are going to Outlaw on Saturday.
-first trip down in five years-enjoyed the show-but found the realignments after yellows were slow and maybe too many yellow laps before a white. Cars too that would bring out a yellow rather than pulling fully off the track was problematic. Food was good and concession ladies very nice. Re the PA system--the solution might be like many tracks up here is to go to a short range FM transmitter so fans can listen on their radio head sets (plus many newer scanners also have an FM button). One thing too-re the 6 cyl and vintage classes---perhaps they should be last to be run. I realize a lot of folks would leave after the "big" classes but on the other hand, folks will stay if the show goes off well. Gives them the option of not being held captive especially if they have far to drive. It was about 2 1/4 hrs back to Burlington mainly because the border was good.
-a few other thoughts-honestly thought the incident between the top two super stocks was incidental contact and not worthy of the 8 being sent to the back but that was likely the super stock club officials call. Cool that the track already had out the 2018 schedules. Got my Jim Pierce T shirt. Great getting to meet a longtime Facebook buddy (Jay Pees) in the flesh. Jay runs the Raceway Magazine facebook group and handles the souvenir program for Eriez and Stateline. Sure was a lot of modified talent in the SSST ranks on Saturday.
I had a BLAST on Saturday. The Pits were over flowing, the grandstands were full and OMG -- the WEATHER was FANTASTIC !!! My car ended up in a pile of POOP on a restart and ended our day. I wish we had the chance to continue to perform for our teams guests but it is what it is. Either way we still had an amazing time at the track.
Count me among the thankful for calling the show early on Sunday. I don't know everyone's situation but I was minutes away from leaving when I got the word. As an ancient American, the day is already long enough and the storm front and subsequent track drying would have extended it even hours more.....good call..............kt
As an ancient American LOL
I think you mean "experienced" American. You weren't around when Modifieds were steam powered.
